I'm content with everyone's place on that list, including the non-Revs players.

Most telling quote from Nicol:
How do you like this new Liverpool team and coach Rafa Benitez' rotation policy?
I'm not a fan of it. I can understand the idea of trying to keep a team and players fresh, but maybe at the end of the season with this rotating all the time they'll be nothing left to keep them fresh for. I mean look at Arsenal, who are top of the table. They only make changes that are forced on them and they're doing just fine. I'm just not sure how important all this rotating really is...

Most telling quote from Nicol:
He went into more detail on FFF on why he thought that way. It made a lot more sense than what was in that article.

Grant Wahl thinks we're out after the first round (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/grant_wahl/10/23/mailbag/index.html).

The general consensus around these boards is we are out of the first round as well.
Can't say that I blame them.

I don't see why. Don't they know we were in first place in July? ;)

In the DC/Chicago match up, who is this group rooting for (besides a catastrophe at the stadium)?

Nope ... that's all I'm rooting for. America's IQ would immediately go up by about 15 points per person. :D

I know quite a few men that are looking forward to this one. 2014 WC will be Brazil (http://njmg.typepad.com/sbi/).

I'll be rooting for Chicago, just because I want to end their season again (and another home game would be nice).

Hmm, just affirms the fact that I should have tried harder to go to Germany. No offense to South Africa and Brazil, but they're not exactly the most...touristy of places in my opinion. Germany has a much richer history and is a bit more developed, where as South Africa and Brazil are both (officially) considered third world countries. I know the World Cup will help that cause, but it still doesn't make it easier to go.
I plan on going back to Houston for most of the summer in 2010 anyways, so odds are I'll be in Brazil 2014.

Is it too soon to start saving for that trip? I already have a savings account for South Africa.

You should spend more time in class.
South Africa and Brazil are classified as "newly industrialized countries" which makes them above third-world, but below first world. Brazil also has the 9th largest economy in the world, and has experienced strong growth once they adopted free market policies.

Everybody mentions how LA "peaked at the right time" in 2005. Well, they had just gotten run off the pitch at home to SJ (Dero's famous free kick around the wall game) 2-3 weeks before they beat them 3-1 in the 1st leg of the playoffs. The point is you literally just have to make the playoffs and show up strong.
Our form hasn't been bad, but there have been lapses late in the last two games. If our team can't show up for the full 90 minutes in the playoffs, shame on them.

I already started a pyramid marketing scam to save up for South Africa.
