Congrats to the win.
@
Is anyone knows why Yildiray Basturk come off ?
'' in the second half''.
Had to go off at halftime because of some minor injury.
Hopefully it won't harm him, it's great to see him slowly coming closer to his potential, a great goal today! :)

That shoulder goal from Gomez was soooo amazing!
After having seen it for a 3rd time in the "Aktuelles Sportstudio", I finally have to admit that it wasn't his shoulder or chest ... but his genital! :p :D

Is there a link to the highlights from this match?
I was at the university working with my group, and when I checked to see the score I let out a big cry of joy! Kind of startled the people with me, and then had to explain why today was a wonderful day no matter how the rest of it went.
I'm on a cloud right now. I really feel like CL aside, we've turned the season around and at least have a chance of finding a respectable finish to the season. I'm really hopeful we'll show our true worth in the next 4 games, 3 of which against teams directly around us in the table. Big games and we need points out of them all so that we go into the Winter Break with high confidence and momentum to move up the table in the 2nd half of the season.
BTW, what does "AUSWAERTSSIEG" mean? I know what sieg is, but the rest I donot know.
Ciao,

Auswaertssieg means "away win," which really doesn't apply today thankfully!:D

I dunno how serious his knock was yesterday so I can't tell you that. But hopefully he'll be able to play.

You guys got me in trouble yesterday...well, actually I got in trouble because of you. See; since we got the new systems, I've been doing a lot of mandatory overtime on Saturdays, and while the money is good I've missed a lot of your games, I set the recorder at home, but I cant help taking a peek at GolTV.tv here at work to see the results, and -I must admit-normally my reaction is "oh fudge", so I wont watch the game anyway.
But there was no way I was going to miss this one, so I call the area supervisor and told him that last friday I had some bad italian food and that I wasnt going to work, which is credible enough (he's a baseball fan, so he doesnt know about the Bundesliga) since this is the first time in about 10 years.
The problem was that tomorrow is a holiday here in the States, so missing work yesterday looks like a blatant excuse to have an extra day off, so there goes my perfect attendance bonus.
But what the heck, it was a beautiful game, VfB game was poised, elegant and the team played with abandon attitude that was beautiful to see,Bayern was humiliated, Ribery is a dirty frog and the hell with my attendance bonus, I made plenty of dough with all the overtime.
Life is beautiful, thank you guys.

According to Bild, Ljuboja will leave this winter. They don't offer many new facts, but Ljuboja apparently realized, that he has to trade off part of his salary in order to save his career.
Fulham, Sochaux and Auxerre are supposedly interested...we'll see

In other news Bastürk misses Turkey's games against Norway and Bosnia.
From a precaution to a weeklong injury. Only with Bastürk injuries get worse with time.

with a little bit of luck, we will see Karlruhe lose and VfB win today and tomorrow and we'll find ourselves just 1 point behind them, nipping at their heals.
any word on who may be available and who may be out for tomorrow's game?

Regarding KSC, we shouldn't worry, we'll pass them eventually anyway :) - personally I hope they draw with Hertha so that neither team profits, but really at this point we still only need to concentrate on our own matches.
In terms of injuries, not the best news:
Tasci will have to miss the game(which, on this season's form, isn't really a tragedy) and, take a wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiild guess...............................
Basturk! Will miss the game through a minor injury. And of course Arthur Boka is still injured as well. This is how i'd like to see us line up:
Schaefer
Beck-Delpierre-Meira-Magnin
Pardo
Hilbert-Hitzlsperger
da Silva/Khedira
Cacau-Gomez
To take the spot Tasci played at rightback, I would definitely choose Beck over Osorio, because Beck has played so well in the chances he has gotten this season. I don't even know why he didn't start against Bayern! But he should definitely be in the first 11 tomorrow.
In midfield there's an issue over the creator. Khedira can paly there sometimes and he would be the logical choice. But da Silva is back from injury in the meantime and i'm thinking that perhaps he deserves his chance to start. Farnerud has had many chances and hasn't produced, so he's not an option for now in my opinion.
In attack, Cacau has played solidly this season but just hasn't scored enough(only 1 goal so far). I would want Marica to get the nod ahead of him tomorrow but since he played NT matches for Romania in the last week he may be exhausted, so Cacau should remain starter besides Gomez for now. But I really hope he starts scoring soon.
I think we can win tomorrow as long as we keep up our recent BL performances. Another 3 points and the run will continue, let's do it :)

Yes, I agree, and right now I'm certainly much more concerned with us taking care of our own business than what the other teams are doing. However, with that being said, I'd like to reduce the amount of time that Karlsruhe can brag that they've been ahead of us in the table... and I really hope we destroy them on the backside of the schedule to compensate for our poor performance early in the year.

Well, halftime in Frankfurt and it's 1-1.
Things were looking pretty bad when Gomez got injured(Marica has replaced him) and Frankfurt took the lead through Koehler but we did brilliantly to equalize just before halftime through Hilbert following a Pardo assist.
The late equalizer gives me cautious optimism for the second half :) - we would have to tolerate a draw as Frankfurt have been solid this season, but a win would be absolutely great!

TORRRRRRR.... Marica does it at last :D
We lead deservedly after a good second half start, now hopefully the boys keep up their performance for the remaining 35 minutes and we can enjoy a great result!

...and to put the icing on the cake, we score a fourth through Cacau after a good assist by Marica :)
We're now back to playing just as well as anytime during the title season, and if we keep this up, then alot is still possible :)
