Yes, Ulreich plays :)

...and Cacau's back in the starting lineup :)

Poor Hilbert, his passing technique has been frustrating to watch. The passing in the final offensive third has not been connecting well this half. Hopefully Veh light's a fire in the bellies of the Schwaben to go and get a win......................as Gomez heads in the tor.:D

Pantolic makes it 2-1 right before the half off of the defense not closing down and/or marking up. The game is still salvagable though. Come on Schwaben!

I ********ing hate Pantelic, but both his goals were really nice, typical that Hertha has precisely one dangerous player, and that one player is left completely free by the defenders all half.

Ulreich not to blame for either goal, and has made some good saves. Hopeful showing by him so far.

We must win this, anything other than 3 points at home against Hertha is not tolerable. I'm awaiting a strong response in the second half, though I fear that if we don't score in the first 15 minutes of the second half, it'll be very tough for us to come back.

I'm not exagerrating when I say I can't remember the last time we played so bad. Imo we can forget about finishing in the top six.

Who was our best player? Ulreich.

This was just such a horrible performance, i'm not gonna say anything else. ******** this.

totally shambolic defensive display today and delpierre just sums it up by getting sent off

how would you rate Ulreich today on a scale of 1-10 and would you rather have him than schaefer?

Yup, it was absolutely pathetic. I think the worst defender however was Meira, but that's just my opinion. Hertha aren't creative geniuses, but they completely outplayed us with their counters. Pantelic I don't remember losing the ball to our defenders A SINGLE TIME in the entire match.... that's just pathetic.

Tasci is back I believe, he should be able to replace Delpierre in the coming games...

@Fussballer76

I'd give him a 7.5.
Using a kicker rating i'd give him a 2.5

He wasn't really at fault for any of the goals and had quite a few good saves and actions. He should definitely stay in over Schaefer for now.

Could have won 5-1 if not for some bad refereeing decisions (thinking about the 88th minute offside of Pantelic that was clearly not). You'll have better days.

I agree that the kid was better than Schaefer, but today also showed that you guys have much bigger problems than Rafael Schaefer.

BTW, how's that f#cking slug Basturk working out? Worth that 3M per?

He did okay in the first half I thought but yea totally not worth it. I'm ecstatic that we got rid of both him and Gilberto, they seem not to be arsed this year.

IMO, Bastuerk has been a waste of space for quite awhile now. While he can still be effective from time to time, he sure as hell wasn't worth what Stuttgart paid him and I no clue as to what ever made Horst Heldt think he was.

He could have gotten away with this shit in Dortmund, where we wanted him to simply keep the seat warm for Sahin, but not in Stuttgart. But of course, in Dortmund, he wouldn't be getting paid half of what he's "making" (and I use that term loosely) in Stuttgart.

Again, I wonder what sort of hashish Heldt smoked to make him even IMAGINE that Bastuerk is worth 3M per?

That is almost as big a joke as Dortmund paying 5M for Nelson Valdez......

I agree with you that Meira was the worst defender against Hertha, but I meant that Delpierre getting a red card was symbolic of our poor display. Either way, our defense was shite. It may be my emotions, but I would honestly like to see the captain armband taken from Meira. The Captain must lead by example and he has been horrible lately on the pitch. I want Pardo as captain. Also, Tasci should be able to slot in for whoever in the defense. At this point, it wouldn't hurt to mix things up.

I agree.

Meira, even when he's played well, has never been the leader that Balakov and Soldo were before him. I'd like to see either Pardo, or even Gomez, take over the armband.

Has Pardo learned German? If not, forget about him being captain. I would say Gomez or Hitzlsperger.

I'm not sure, I think he knows the basics, but obviously isn't fluent. But he's been our vice captain for the last 12 months or so, and has captained us on a couple of occasions so I guess he would be first in line. Plus, his experience is unmatchable in our side. But I guess the language barrier would be a big issue.

Gomez would be a good choice. Hitzlsperger as well.

However, I doubt we'd switch captains mid-season, if anything we'd probably change in the summer. But who knows.

Yeah, well, maybe his team wouldn't have a problem if he didn't decide to give 3M per season to a player who clearly doesn't deserve it.

Didn't that make him your team's highest paid player??
