I know that the name New York Cosmos is the fan favorite for the new team. However, assuming that the name New York Cosmos is not available ($2-3 million cost) and the high expectation that would come from it.
Which name would you favor (if the name Cosmos is not doable)?
New York FC
New York International
Other----please name it.

Id prefer New York City FC out of the three. We need a team called CITY.

There's always the Wizards - Derek Rae used to call them "City" for short.*

I like New York FC, as mentioned they can be nicknamed "City", and NYFC is another good nickname.

With a $30 million franchise fee, whats another $3 million? Not much in the whole grand scheme of things.

Hahaha I have to agree. Im sick of people putting an English twist on the game in America. Lets try to come up with original team names instead of being poseurs.

My first pick is of course the NY COSMOS but being that its not probable I think that Inter NY is a name that fans can really rally around. NYC is an international city. Inter wouldnt alienate hispanic nor europeans. It would be a rally cry, we all know we are from other places and this would bring us all together. It would unite the city in a way unknown in MLS and any Major League sport in this country. The Cosmos did this in the 70's and we can do this again in the 21th Century with Inter NY!
