Well, we may just get our chance to see the strike pairing we've been clamoring for when Sp*rs come to SJP on Monday night.
Viduka is out injured and will likely not feature for us, meaning that Oba and Owen are expected to start alongside one another. Which hopefully will mean some goals. Barton is expected to make the bench only, which will be a good thing since he'll come on and hopefully make an impact. Perhaps the best news of all, Smith is suspended so he can't do anything stupid.
For Sp*rs, Paul Robinson is out with a calf injury. Pity too, as he was averaging two goals conceded per game. But, if he's the best for Sp*rs, maybe the backup is worse. :D
This game is a 2000 BST (3 pm EDT) start on Monday, and can be seen on Setanta in the US.

I go to a community college in fresno california, i hav a poly sci class and one day this guy started talking to me about nufc. he told me he was from bulgaria, and that he was in the CSKA Sofia youth team and reserves. He asked me if i knew who berbatov was and i said yes. He told me they were only 6 months apart in the youth acatamy and that his favorite english club was nufc. And now he plays on my indoor team;)

I'll take that team and trade Roz for Cacapa in CB and have Barton dropping in for Butt or Emre sometime in the 2nd half for a go.
I'll take that score line as well...with the exception of the Bulgarian Unibrow on Legs taking one and Keane taking the other.
I am really really excited to see what EMO and OBA can do...

Allardyce, however, has better news on defender Cacapa, who has shrugged off a niggling groin problem and is set to start in the centre of defence alongside Abdoulaye Faye.
And that means centre-halves Steven Taylor and David Rozehnal are competing for a place on the bench, along with fit-again midfielder Joey Barton, who could make his United debut. Link (http://www.shieldsgazette.com/nufc/Viduka-blow-for-United.3400528.jp)
I still don't get it. Roz was solid for us at the beginning of the year. Why bench him? I think Sam is just staying in his comfort zone and isn't looking at who is the better all around player,

After International break,
Lets hope we can get good result from tonight match up.
Could be huge tempo game by our team,,,
''Tottenham'' ; they will think more of about uefa cup game at midweek vs getafe.... or they will follow the ryhtim of Toon tempo...
#
maybe, our right side ''RB position'' gonna be underpressure, our last two game , the opposite's goals come from our Right side area...if iam not wrong.
Tonight match up ; main point will be; I think golie's performance willl be the key point for the match,,, there for I hope our golie perform well and our midfield do their offansive job to assist for the the strikers ''score'' winning goal.s.
I believe and hope, we'll gonna be winning side.
My prediction is; 2:0 , 2:1 or 3:2
Regards

Jol: Newcastle not in our league (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=474698&cc=9999)
This is the kind of article that my high school coaches would hang in the locker room before a game. I can't think of a better way to motivate the other team than saying something stupid like that.

How nice of Jol to forget that we had European football of some order five straight years prior to this one. Bnd to be fair, Jol's right. We're not in their (fourth from bottom) league. :D

Unfortunately, I have a midterm starting at 3:35. I'm starting to really get pissed off about shit like this interrupting my ability to watch matches. I'll get to catch a half hour(I should be studying) but this isn't good enough for me.
Anyways, hopefully Big Sam will start Martins and Owen up top with Emre and Butt in the middle. I'd like to see Zogs on the left, Milner on the right and a defensive pairing of Beye, Taylor, Rozy and Enrique. Since Viduka is out injured(or looks like it) thank god Smith is suspended, or else we wouldn't see Owen and Martins up top. Smith doesn't deserve his spot yet. Hopefully Barton will be available around the 60th minute because Emre might not have full match fitness. I also wouldn't mind seeing Geremi at RB but I know he will get a start in the center with Butt only further depressing me. The fixtures against Spurs last year produced some extremely exciting matches, hopefully it will stay the same. Maybe Martins can notch another GOTY contender tonight :D
Let's all enjoy this one more time :D

I would love to see the two O's up front, but I have a sneaking suspicion that BSA will want a bigger guy up there and go with Shola with one of the two. My guess would be that he will start with OBA and Shola since Owen just did all of that playing for England. I could be wrong, in fact I usually am, but that's what seems likely to me.
That being said, I think we are looking at 3 Toon goals against one, or possibily two from the Sp*urs. Three points to keep us in striking distance of the top teams.

HELL YES!
Newcastle: Given, Beye, Faye, Cacapa, Jose Enrique, Geremi, Butt, Emre, N'Zogbia, Martins, Owen. Subs: Harper, Rozehnal, Barton, Milner, Ameobi.
I'm guessing Geremi will be used out right, I can live with that.

I'm kind of surprised Milner was the one bumped for Emre.

I'm not, it's not like BSA is about to bench his captain, and he knows Butt and Emre must start in the middle. Leaves no option.
This feed is ********ing pissing me off, I can't find one that is not stopping every ten seconds. God damnit.

It looks nice on Setanta. Get yourself to a pub.
Spurs don't look up for it today. We've 59% of possession in the 1st half. Martins puts one in the 5 hole. Nice!!

Spurs defense is horrendous today, very lazy marking, too lazy for a goalkeeper who has his first start of the season.

52 mins: Spurs have been woeful from corners and once again a near-post delivery has proved costly as Cacapa heads home.
51 mins: GOAL for Newcastle! The Magpies have doubled their lead.

57 mins: Bent heads Chimbonda's cross against the post and Keane is on hand to stab home the rebound. Lifeline for Spurs.
57 mins: GOAL for Spurs! They've pulled one back.
Toon still winning 2-1
