It's a tough weekend to gauge because of the amount of international matches played over the past few days; you never know how teams will play after everybody returns, especially in the quantity (of players) at the bigger clubs.

The Premier League has its marquee match up first; those up early enough Saturday morning can bear witness to the Merseyside derby, when Goodison Park hosts the friendly rivals that call the city of Liverpool home. (http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/606/A28126569) Questions surround injured players like Tim Cahill and Fernando Torres in this one, but I ask again--which team meshes together better, in a quicker fashion? Liverpool has the more known cast, can names like Gerrard et al recover and re-focus? A lot of clubs in the Champions League may take some risks and sit players with one eye on mid-week.

The rest of the schedule reads out as such. (http://football.guardian.co.uk/breakingnews/feedstory/0,,-7008645,00.html) There are similiar questions you can ask of Arsenal, United, etc--except they're not playing a derby, just for three points.

Die Bundesliga has nothing that really jumps off the screen (http://football.guardian.co.uk/breakingnews/feedstory/0,,-7008760,00.html) this weekend in the way of a big matchup; same with Serie A. (http://football.guardian.co.uk/breakingnews/feedstory/0,,-7008522,00.html)La Liga has old Gunners reuniting while Real Madrid is peppered with the bumps, bruises and pulls. Saturday night, you may want to check out Pachuca-America if you have a few minutes; otherwise, it's the potential car crash that is potential qualification for the playoffs in MLS. (http://web.mlsnet.com/playoff_standings/) Kansas City simply has to control their own destiny and win in Dallas, a feat they couldn't do in the same spot last season. Chicago's at home, they have LA coming off last night's game and travel--there are no excuses for the Fire at this point.
