Just saw this on the BBC website:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/london/7076146.stm

Former England striker Ian Wright has denied allegations of racially abusing a black traffic warden in a row over a parking ticket, his agent said.

He said Mr Wright had said: "He [the warden] is a liar. He called me a white man who lives in a white man's road."

A police spokesman said: "Officers received an allegation of racial abuse which will be investigated."

Mr Weston said Mr Wright had also said: "I said to him, 'I'm sure your parents are happy that you've come to England and been a traffic warden instead of a lawyer or something'."

I really have no idea what this is all about, but it seems utterly ridiculous to me.

Apparently the traffic warden had said to him "you live like a white man, you live in a white man's road" or something to that effect. I need to root the paper out and find out.

For the record, I think you were wrong!

Anyway, news:
Former Arsenal striker Arturo Lupoli has been loaned to Treviso until the end of the season having struggled back in his homeland since his summer move to Fiorentina.

The Italian has been forced to drop down to Serie B in a bid for first-team football, starting just one cup game all season for The Viola.

The 20-year-old is contracted with Fiorentina until 2012 but has evidently failed to impress manager Cesare Prandelli.

Whoops. Looks like you made a great career decision leaving Arsenal, didn't you Arturo?
