What do you guys think? We all started out the Sanchez era full of hope and all.....we beared with poor results in Copa America because of the good game play and because the real objective were Eliminatorias....well, Eliminatorias are here and we still do not see any real results.

yes, this is just starting.....but the last time arround we started even better than this and we still didnt make it.

If by the next games we dont wake up, I foresee a very long road to Monumental in Lima, Peru, where Peru and Bolivia will once again be playing to see who will own the bottom of the rankings and who the 9th spot.

So, what do you guys think is the real problem? Are we simply not good enough? Is our coach not all that as we thought hed be? Are our dirigentes messing up (the whole bonuses problem at the last minute for example)? If you had to change one thing that you think would give us a shot to South Africa....what would it be?

Honestly i think it's a matter of taking some players out and putting different ones in. The coaching is part of that problem but taking him out is not the answer (not until we have someone with a good track record ready to sign).
I think many here share the same sentiments when i say that getting a couple of players out would make the team more offensive minded and better.

Other than Raldes, we dont have anyone worth raving about in defense. I dont know the answer to that, i dont know who would be better. Is Juanma the answer? don't know, he is old and not very fast, but having someone tall in the middle next to raldes may be a good combo. but we always get beat on the sides with the crosses, we dont have defenders on the side to challenge the wingers of any team. To me that is a huge problem with the team, once we get behind, we tend not to rally (unless we're playing 3rd division - under 18 players from the US).

What are the suggestion on defense that would make the team better, and although the keeper did save us with those two colombian opps, i think Lampe is still the better choice.

Chico Combine this thread!

With that said,

I feel our problem is finding the right combo of players! We have tons and tons of great talent! But its finding the right combo to success is the problem. We need our backline to straighten up, as we were hurting with out JMP, and lorgio alvarez in the back.

Alvarez--------------JMP----------Raldes---------------Gatty Ribiero

That backline would be awsome to try!

But we also need a good midfiled, but IMO we found the answer in Limberg in the middle, maybe moreno in for him when tired? The question is who for the right midfiled spot? Vaca there wouldnt be thaaaaat bad, as it would take all the load off him being our only creating midfielder, but he is still really small and missed 2 shots on goal in the end of the second half. Sacha lima? I suggested before... How about Daner Pachi??? I dunno though, at this point its all most done trying people out, These people called up right now should be it, and we should work it out between them.

-------------------------Limberg Gutierrez-------------------------

Jhasmani Campos-------------------------------------------------???

----------------------------Nacho Garcia---------------------------

And up front I'd Say lets work Arce and Martins up front, and cabrera or moreno if one is messing up.

At this point we need to try all three of them out, because at this point all three are playing real well outside of bolivia and showing their greatness, they all deserve bastante playing time! Moreno can come in for Limberg.

So...>Vaca is too small so bring in Daner Pachi? Daner is small framed too! Skillful, but small framed.....with Bolivar in the Sudamericana he was constantly on the floor!

He looked decent with Wilstermann when playing against That chilean team for the sudamericana.

But i am just making a suggestion. Its too late for him IMO for this qualifying at least to be considered, as we are already into qualifying. We need to work with what we got, who do you think would work in that right midfield spot?

I would combine it but this discussion is worthy of its own thread. My take is that we lack real leadership on the field. I think we don't play angry enough. We've been CONMEBOL's whipping boys for so long. People look at the schedule, laugh and figure it's an easy 3 points.

We're more talented than that. We showed it in Copa America. I think Jaime Moreno needs to kick Vaca off the field. Jaime's a great player but can't play target forward at this level anymore. He can still hold and feed Arce. Our defense needs to get nasty and take players on. And finally we need to go straight at the goal. If we lose 5-0 I'd rather it be with us fighting to score than standing around like a bunch of retards.

I agree with what's already been said here but not completely tried on the field - Ribeiro and Gutierrez were a revelation and added to the rest of the crew, once again: Arce, Martins, Moreno (all playing at the same time and _not_ including Vaca), Campos, Garcia, Amador, Raldes, JMP, and Lampe (tho Galarza had his moments against Colombia, he still makes me nervous) I think we have a shot. The question is why Sanchez se empaco and doesn't put in the best players - is it favoritism, friendship, what?

I think hes trying to find a good combo between the older guys, and new up and comers. Sort of like the old team of the past.

Our defense is pretty set IMO:

(left) (right)
L. Alvarez----------Juan Manuel Pena--------R. Raldes------------Gatty Ribiero

M.A. Hoyos looked really good with his offensive tactics from the back, scoring for us against Ireland, and playing real well going up. Its his defense that lacks, and still would make for a decent sub for Gatty, as he seemed to get pretty gassed in our last game. He is a similar player to him, and works about the same.

That line IMO still needs to be tried, but IMO is our best backline we have out of the talent we got.

Our Midfield IMO should look somethign like this:

-----------------------Gutierrez(J.Moreno)------------------------

J. Campos-----------------------------------------------????(vaca? S. Lima)

-------------------------Nacho Garcia---------------------------
The only part i have no idea is who to try in the right midfiled spot. I am thinking still Mojica He showed some brilliance against colombia, with some a couple of shanked shots, cuts, and passes, but he is still pretty nervous on the ball regardless. Vaca - is still pretty small, and gets pushed off the ball alot. But shows some good touches and passes. His only problem too is he shanked 2 shots in the box towards the end of the colombia game, which could have won it for us...regardless He could possibly be used on that side. Lima, he looked pretty good from what i can remember at the copa america. He'd also be worth a look at.

And for forwards:

-------------Martins(Cabrera)----------------Arce-----------------------

These 3 guys i think would work good up front, with maybe trying out Saucedo in coming weeks.

And last but not least, Goalkeepers.

I dont know who should play in the back, but i suggest Lampe as others have said. Although Galarza finally showed great goalkeeping, he still is too small and before the colombia game showed alot of slow reaction to shots and chips, etc.

Suarez is another guy who seemed ok, but not good enough. I still stand by my last statement, lets give Gato Fernandez another shot. Hehe.

Personally I thought that we played ok...just ok.
Definitely the first half was our best half of the match, but we struggled in the back and midfield. I really hope Sanchez stay so Bolivia can stop changing coaches every time we disappoint the country. We can't leave the players without a permanent coach. Besides, it seems that the players have really connected with the coach as a friend and player(Too bad they haven't proved it on the field!). I don't think that we played that bad against Colombia. We have to stay optimistic or we will be arguing like typical Bolivians. Besides it's only the first two games. For my formation for next game against Argentina is....
()=sub

JC Arce(he likes to cut from left to right)///////Marcelo Martins(Cabrera)

Jhasmani Campos////Gutierrez///Ronald Garcia(Vaca)////Cabrera(Moreno)

Herman Soliz///////Carlos Tordoya///////Ronald Raldes//////Gatty Ribiero

Lampe

I think that we should never have Mojica or Andaveris ever again wearing the Bolivian jersey. They both did completely nothing in the game and their good for nothing. I suggest that we call Gustavo Pinedo or Castillo instead of Andaveris. even though i prefer Pinedo instead of Castillo because he is faster, younger, blacker(lol, jk) and has more experience with the present national team(even though is is only 19). I also suggest that we call Jose Luis Ortiz who plays in Germany instead of Mojica because I bet even he can play better then Mojica and I think he deserves a chance to play.

Yeah, at this point I don't think it makes sense to get rid of Sanchez but I think some of his choices are suspect as evidenced by our results - we beat Colombia 4 x 0 last time at home..! I've been watching the rebroadcast and the truth is that for most of the game we controlled the pace - yes Colombia had several good chances and surprisingly Galarza handled them, and Amador came to our rescue at almost the last minute...

We are so close to having the best team we could put on the field given our options, but I maintain that up until this point, and for potentially good reasons/experiments, Sanchez has not put our best team forward. Things are not as good as we would like them but we did rescue a point and the team is developing some cohesion and you can start to see the light at the end of the tunnel. In all honesty, we should have come to this point before the start of the eliminatorias but we're here now. We might be able to pull something off against Venezuela, and maybe dream of upsetting Argentina, if Sanchez, the coaching staff, and the players themselves, select a more capable squad, play as a team and leave everything on the field.

Viva Bolivia!!!

The Peru game should be nice. Though it always seem for the big games the team just has too many meltdowns (even at home)!

We'll see, we played really good against paraguay before the copa america in santa cruz. We were unlucky to not win it by at least 3 goals, let alone no goals
