One man's bullish take on the playoffs

It's been a long season and while the New York Red Bulls have admittedly not done very well recently, I believe Bruce Arena has the team poised for a playoff run that will (gasp!) surpass the normal "one and done" post-season routine its fans have grown accustomed to. Where is this blasphemous talk coming from? I'll tell you:

sounds nice, but i dont agree, our defense has looked awful, the marking on the corner vs KC was awful, and i'd think Bruce would play reyna the second hes semi healthy, and Altidore didn't look great vs KC, although fitness/the knock he took early on may have played into that one. I really don't expect much from Arena right now, take out Angel and we would have had a very dismal season, so if we can provide good service to the guys up top, and just play OK defensively, we've got a shot.

I don't see why we can't make it out of the first round. The past two seasons haven't been blowouts by either DC or NE and this year's team is better in talent if not results. And New England has shown they can lose games, as they did last week.

Plenty of holes in this team, but it's nothing new. There's a chance.
