a lot of people have picked davids (myself included)...he really is a great player. he's a great midfield engine, is a good passer and has such experience that i'm not really suprised that he figures in a lot of teams.

I always thought davids and jens jeremies were great defensive midfield players (and similar in their approach to the game)...

other good defensive midfielders ? ?

ramelow, helguera (even thoough he hasnt played that well recently), keane (i dont think he's a true defensive midfielder though - i think he'll end up in defence soon enough, viera.

I think that AvidSinger's above post is very good. I agree with most of his choices, although I would probably put Beckham in the starting line-up then we could sell more T-shirts.

I understand why this thread was started, but can only say that the dream team already exists. It is known as Blackburn Rovers, and they are renowned as the greatest football team in the history of planet Earth, so there.
