NO, 0, zip Soccer.
Not even Ruiz's gamewinner in front of 61K+ in the Boro.

It took that joke of a segment on "Images" on the ESPYs to get me to voice my anger here. Is ESPN not the main English-speaking cable avenue for soccer in the US? And they turn their back completely on it?

Settle down, if you don't like the show, don't watch it, I doubt they even show the soccer events.

Rediculous. Not one shot of soccer. You would think there was no 1st division league here. Yet loads of wnba action. They couldnt even have shown Ruiz's game winner for 2 seconds? what a load of crap. They have even been showing swimming and track and field. They'll probably show lacrosse before they would show soccer.

Yeah, I remember when they just had one category for soccer player and Mia Hamm won. That, of course, led to the US missing the 2002 World Cup and MLS attendance plummeting 90 percent.
Oh, wait, it didn't.

At Least the Fiesta Bowl won best game of the year. That's the 2nd Buckeye victory to win game of the year.

I almost said, no. However, given that it irritates the bigsoccer masochist crowd who watch it solely so that they can feel persecuted and wounded before flying off to threads like this, I think there's a reason to care about it.
I still can't think of a single reason to watch the damn thing, though.

the us needs another big outlet to pickup soccer
fox sports world is ok could be alot better....
espn and their extreme sports highlights----get a clue already

When they had the winners walk out at the end and show their names and what they won they didn't even put anything on the screen for him, picture or name. Since I was listening to music I didn't know who won until just now as I expected to see the winner or something stating the winner.
Maybe next year ESPN will figure out that for Male Soccer Player of the Year it either needs to be categorized for the MLS, US players or World (which would exclude Americans every year for a while and have a no show winner virtually every year). But no more of mixing MLS and players based in Europe (especially ones who shouldn't even be listed like Beckham).

The ESPY's are awards voted by FANS at espn.com. Oviously you missed that whole part. Donovan, Friedel, Ronaldo, Beckham and i bielive Henry were in the running and most fans voted Ronaldo. What's the problem? There's no shouldve in this, it's fan voting.

Well, besides showing Ronaldo and showing Katia (spelling) of WUSA there was no shots of soccer.
I love soccer more then anything, but when you put it into the same house as NFL, NBA and MLB, it will not be noticed much either in AMERICA.
btw, hockey and nascar were shown just a little more then soccer, and both much more popular then soccer is in America, so i donno why cry about it.

ESPYs had the greatest collection of girls I've seen in a while. Sofia Vergara, Jessica Alba, Rosalind Sanchez, Vivica Fox......WOW. BTW Laura Flynn Boyle did look gross...damnit woman eat something!

Besides the fact they show tons of highlights from very popular sports in America, it's a showcase for super stars like Barry Bonds, Michael Vick and Tim Duncan, who can enjoy a night for being selected for something he did by fans and have fun at the same time.
Not to mention the high rankings it gets. You don't like it, don't watch it like that Crew fan said. No worries. Although, ESPY rankings are higher then any MLS game ever played. You not watching is no loss to ESPN.
