Just saw a commercial for Real Sports where they have an interview with Beckham by Frank Deford. Looks like they are talking about why he isn't a superstar here like he is in the rest of the world. Just thought I'd pass it along.

Nice...Deford can be a pain the ass sometimes...but Real Sports is always a quality program and I look forward to it every month.
HBO is the best $15/month or whatever you can spend.

I am completely appalled. Pardon the profanity but I can't believe that the sonofabitch deford is going to interview beckham. I feel like vomiting.
How did they agree to have a footballer get interviewed by really what amounts to the antichrist of footballers?
This sucks.

deford will ask some interesting questions, but he will continue to point out that baseball is america's game, that we are unaware of the rest of the world and that well soccer is boring. I'm sure he will put becks on the defensive about his real importance, because afterall if americans don't think he is a story...how can he be. I'll watch but I know this crap is coming!

before we assume that deford will rip beckham
limb by limb.. deford did basically drool over
beckham in an april si article called

i didn't think Deford took any cheap shots at socceer last night. I really can't stand him though. The piece on Alex Zanardi (sp?) was also excellent.

deford did a basic american interview of beckham..
a good thing is at least deford got the facts right
about beckham..
the only tidbit i found it was that beckham is a
quarter jewish
it seemed like real sports did an international episode with gumbel sent to monaco to do an interview with zanardi, deford sent to england and
bernie being sent to goodison park to do a piece
on that streaker
