Hey. I play soccer and I play it a lot. I would just like to know if you have any tips and tricks for me. Im good already, but i'd like to learn more. Reply soon!!

Well, no. I dont have very good defensive skills (even though I am quite good at offence and midfielder) and I practice 3 to 4 hours each day so keep your mouth shut and help me.

while playing defense i go by one saying...."ball or player...both never should go by."....be patient while defending....anticipate the offender's movements and dont get caught wrong footed, that is one thing that is important..positioning and balance is important while defending. your teammates should also be yelling instructions at you to tell you which way to "force" the offender to go. also knowing how to play zone defense and man marking is important. when man marking you dont want to let your mark stray too far from you, or be too close to you. if you are too close to your mark, that player could check off the ball then change the direction of their run quickly and it will be difficult to recover. so keep a reasonable distance from the offender. also knowing angles is something good to know. if you are a second or third defender and you are marking a man, it would be helpful to the defender putting pressure on the ball if you would cover your man at a particular angle so you can easily intercept a pass that may go your way. for me learning angles is challenging, but after lots of practice i kept getting a little better, and watching game tapes helped me see the whole field and all the possible angles and passes. since you stated that you are a fairly good offender. when you attack the defense try slow the game down in your mind and recognize what the defense is trying to make you to do. well i hope that helped a little.

Well normally, the players dont have "bollocks" since I play on an all girls team alll the time. Im a girl.

Okay I came on here wanting advice from you guys, which should be flattering. But all you guys do is act sarcastic and im sick of it. If you are gonna act like this towards a 13 year old girl asking for advice, take your own advice and stay off of the computer.Thats all I can do right now because I just had ankle surgery so....

Leave this forum and head over to the PLAYER forum... I heard that they talk about soccer there too...
