anybody here follow college football?
im a huge usc fan and south carolina since my brother goes to sc. my brother is always talkin about his new hero Spurrier.
I know jeff garcia is suppossed to be latino, there was a salvadoran kicker too.
I heard that Tony Romo is latino but he looks more white, how about that new USC QB mark sanchez?
Is cool to know if any of our boys are playin the big north american sports, my brother used to kick in high school and people would call him "Gramatica" who was a famous Argentino kicker i think.
Who else of our boys is playing nfl or college footbal? any central americans out there?
interesint huh? not i dont like NBA or Baseball, to me NBA died after Jordan and Baseball was never considered a sport on my eyes so i could care less who Alex Rodriguez is.

Mexico has a football league, recently a player was signed to the NFL from there, and Mexico's universities(I know for certain in Monterrey, Guadalajara, and DF) have football teams. I would imagine Puerto Rico being a US territory must play some football. Other than the real futbol and Boxing/Martial Arts, Basketball is my game. A street game that takes skillz(just like futbol) instead of just being a big brute or being able to hit a ball and jog around some bases. And I only watch and-1.

I loathe both Football and Baseball. Just the fact that an unathletic, overweight alcoholic like Babe Ruth could be its greatest player proves it doesn't even deserve to be called a sport.

Jeff garcia is latino, his last name speak for itself but he is mixed with white i think.
I know tony meola and many uruguyans and argentinos like the gramaticas played nfl already. The italians americans are more in the "latino" side i guess, but where i read that tony romo speak spanish, but he clearly is a white guy with italian last name.
2 salvadorans playing mlb, although i dont think they are any good, they were brought from El Salvador and nobody really cares about baseball in el salvadore any way.
i know some crazy dude came to try out from El Salvador to the lakers last summer, and of course he didnt make it, salvadoran basketball sucks.
I dont really have any problem with golf, baseball or hockey... i have play most of them, even volleyball... i just dont think they are competition with soccer. Kind of funny but i was watching at a sport show the other day, and i watched an old american baseball game, not fat baseball players back in the days, the game of baseball seen much more exciting.
I guess is bc of the popularity of steroids but most baseball players now days look fat, that is something i would never follow, i couldnt see myself pullin for someone fat... sports athletes have to be a role model, someone you look torward your future, someone you want to be like. I can tell you that i would never see myself in the future being fat... when you're fat, you have not life, chicks dont like you, and you have not selfsteem.
american football is different, one of my best friends in high school was the school QB who used to play soccer when he was younger. he enjoyed watchin soccer.
some football players are fat but the QB and the receivers and running back which are really the playmakers are cool, thats def the role model you want to have as a competitve athlete.
im sure if i was borned in the US i've prob end up playing american football, as a QB or as a running back, im fast as shit and im too competitive for everybody.
well, the thread is goin out of the original contest, but again is always cool to talk about sports.
I dont really mind watching american football at all, i enjoy boxing too. Basketball is fine sometimes; koby, iverson, ginobili (i think thats his name) nash, lebrown james, carmelo...
Ill stay with soccer though, and american football on the side. Watchin at USC last saturday... damn, that mark sanchez dude left his heart on the field.
im sure there have been more latinos and central americans in baseball, nlf, and nba, even college football, we just dont know them!
college football is awesome though, the rilvalries, women, the party... more like futbol.
well see the next generation, while working at hollister here in los angeles, i met a few salvadoran girls into modeling... great looking guanakitas, and a few salvadorans that surf and play american football, i means that a lot of "our" people is walkin into the american culture, and salvadorans are all over the fiesta places ; )

I agree with the part in bold. But my reasons for this hatred differ: I hate how baseball has little variation and I despise football for being named incorrectly :rolleyes:and also because there is so many stops during one game--no flow whatsoever.
I love hockey, though: used to be a big Rangers fan, but I don't have the time to follow them anymore. Even went to a NYR-NJD game last year: it's crazy!!
My 2 cents. :)

MetroMy problems with Football and Baseball stem from the fact that the coach controls the game through plays, and there's little room for creativity. In Basketball and the real Futbol, you learn how to play, and when you get on the court/field, its pretty much up to you what happens. In football you're like chess pieces the coach moves around. I dislike german/Norwegian futbol for the same reasons.

I loooove it, its a great game
Rugby > "football" X 1.000.000 timesMore macho, without the protection pads the NFL uses. I don't really understand the rules though.

Christian "Chuchky" "Zarco" next salva in NFL. lol hopefully.

im watching espn deportes right now, they have mexicans playing american football :D
is like listening to a salvadoran singing rock in english when they dont even speak english hahaha
i was kind of excited when i heard there was a mexican guy singing for nfl, straigh from the mexican futbolamericano league. but then i was like shit, he is fat... i cant hang with fat people they have no life, they have not selfsteem, not personality... yes dont act like fat people are "human" i know they are, but they should stop eating and do something with their life, maybe playing some soccer or running or dancing...
mexican futbol americano is so retarted, i understand if you are latino and you are borned in the states is cool bc you want to be part of you society but playin futbol americano in mexico is just retarted, those game only promote obesity and violence which of course is fun with a society with not education, the same with proffessional wrestling.
i think rugby is straight, who won the world cup though? i heard argetina was doing good, but south africa or england or something.
i used to play street hockey, i was a roller skater like an street skater and roller, so i played hockey a few times, but i didnt like how you f.. up your hands with the stick though, is great excercise but naah nothing like soccer.
to me the real greatest sports are.
1. soccer
2. boxing: you want violence, puch him, in the face, dont use helmet you f... wussy.
3. surfing: beach, babes, beer, and bob marley songs, what else do you need?
4. skateboard: some of my friends are street skaters... they can do a lot of things with "el hueso" street skating is just as fun as soccer.
5. snowboarding: i've done it, is a great adrenaline when you are going down the mountain.
6. paracaidismo: i was invited already, this girls dad is a sargento in el salvador, she told me we can get in a helicoptero and just do that shit... is like my dream.
beach volleyball is straight, any sport in the beach is cool.
so does tony romo speak spanish or what? how about mark sanchez, what nationality is he from?

I love boxing though, both as a spectator sport and to practice, if you compete in tournaments at a high level, its alot of work. Same with Martial Arts, they both take alot of intelligence and dicipline.

1-Do you guys want me to change this threads title to
"Other sports we like/dislike" ?
2-Antonio, watch a Rugby game, you will understand their rules after a few minutes, its very intense, the more i watch it, the more i like it, and the fans go crazy like in soccer, believe me dude, give it a chance
I watched the Argentina vs France 3rd place WC game a few days ago and it was amazing

i used to go the beach with my friends and sometimes we would play american football or just wrestle to death... you know how it goes, the shit talking trying to impress women, it was hard to take me dont though bc im skinny and fast... my older brother which is a big guy would do it bc he was way more stronger but it will take him a while, i have a cousin whos is the shit, he can fight like not other and he is not even that big but he is a great fighter.
i did some tae kwon do or some shit like that where you kick, but i could never do anything that implies hitting, im could never leave someboby punching me in the face just for fun... i have tried boxing a couple of time but i get mad easily... nobody mess with my pretty face :D
volleyball is underrated, is a great exercise and when you get good, you end up with a really strong right hand or left, beach volleyball is great bc of the women.
i think rugby is cool but is just the contact that i hate, i cant stand other man touching me, in fact only gorgeous women are allowed to touch me.
thats why i could never do pro boxing or pro american football, maybe being a QB would be straight.
