He said the reason he left was b/c Arsenal players were too young too win and he is too old to wait. Now he says we can win the Champion's League. I love him, but we're better off without him.

When will people realise that it's a very small minority of people on this board who give two shits what he says anymore?

Quite right Aaron, I stopped giving a shit when he kissed their badge after two months. I can't be assed anymore.

Well I care, for the majority of the time he was a legend for most fans. Although I was upset that he left, I still admire him and whats he's done to the club.

Admiring him as a player is fine, admiring what he "did" for the club is fine. Personally I don't think there's a need for a thread every time he so much as farts and it sounds like he's talking about Arsenal.

Meh. This is news, and it's interesting. We'd be talking about this article if it was any Barcelona player that suggested Arsenal could do the double.

He never said that he left because our squad was too young, he gave the excuse of DD leaving and the possibility of Wenger leaving. Although we all know that he left because he thinks that Barca is better than us. In any case, he has at least put in an effort to retail ties with us and has often said good things about us, unlike players like Vieira. So you can't really hate him.

Henry has had nothing but good things to say about Arsenal since he left. He was a giant among men while he was here. Best of luck to him as he'll always be remembered as an Arsenal player, first and foremost.

You know what I think?

This should be merged with the Henry appreciation/deappreciation/whatever thread. The thread remains open for 2 weeks, everyone gets Henry out their system, then the thread is locked and Henry's name is banned from this forum like his predecessors R*bery and C*nty.

Why should Henry's name be banned from the forum? No reason!

Just because it seems like every time he coughs people get a boner about it and say "man, Henry said we can win the league! Woah!" then forget to ask the question "why didn't he stay then?"

He's full of shit in my opinion, just trying to be nice and win over sceptics. But I'm just going to stay out these threads from now on, it's easier on my sanity. :)

I think we should be able to talk about Henry whenever we want to-his exit was not as classy as Dennis's but his legacy can not be denied.

I think his leaving had a lot more to do with personal reasons than whether or not we had a squad that was capable of winning......or the possibility of Wenger going and DD leaving.....but he would not be exclaiming for all the world to hear that he was trying to get away from personal problems as the main reason for leaving.

Just my .02.......

These things come up always during international week. The press get as many quotes from ex premiership players as they can. This is because normally players dont want anything to do with reporters but they cant avoid them at the moment. He will be onto a loser whatever he says, even if he said no comment. That is coming from someone who was  at the kissing of the badge the other week.

I guess I'm the only Henry fan left in this forum. That's a shame. He did so much for this club and if he had dropped his form badly for 2 years in a row, many would have wanted him to move on or get benched, so why shouldn't he move on if Arsenal wasn't on the level he needed it to be. It's just the way football works. It's a fickle industry and he's OLD, so he couldn't really wait around and take a big chance.

I was angry and shocked when he decided to leave just like most fans, but I got over that a long time ago. I think he's been extremely respectful in everything he's said about Arsenal and the players since he left. I wish him the best in Barcelona and I hope he gets the CL trophy at some point. It's obviously not happening this season, because that title is ours :D
