Hola a todos:

I'm going to be in BA in November and was thinking to go see Tigre play on the 25th. Is anyone familiar with the stadium and neighborhood? Is it a good place to go and is it fairly safe to go without a tour group like Tangol?

Gracias por su ayuda.

I haven't been to their stadium, but it's in a nice area of the city. Of course, it's still a footbal crowd. Try to go with some locals, if you know some people.

If you're going by yourself, and you're not too familiar with Argentine football, go to La Platea, stay away from La Popular. (The standing area behind the goals). Also you probably want to stay away from the area designated for the visiting team, you want everybody to know you're a fan of Tigre (or whoever the local team is.)

Of course, nobody can garantee your safety, but usually nothing happens. You should be safe, as long as you don't do anything dumb, like for example take an expensive watch and camera, or wear the colors of the opposition, or exchange words with one of the barra bravas.

If you go to the Tigre area, you should also consider taking a boat tour of the Parana Delta. It's a cool trip.

I've been going to the stadium lately, and i'll be there tomorrow. To what i can tell the "popular" of Tigre ain't dangerous or anything, at least to what i can see, actually it's divided in 2 sections, the big stand behind the keep which is the true "popular" and the other stand(the one i always go to) which is under the commentator boxes(the one that doesn't let you see the sideline on TV) and to be honest it looks more family friendly than the majority of the stadiums, also as Tigre's stadium has a single "platea" section it is too expensive compared with the other stand(the platea ticket costs 80 pesos compared with the popular which only costs 25). According to what i've heard there is possible expansion in mind because the stadium has capacity for 32,000 people but it seems it doesn't hold enough people anymore to fit the needs of Tigre supporters.

I'm not going to be able to see the match at 18:00 because I'm at school right now :( Hopefully Tigre wins!

Unfortunately, I was in San Martin de los Andes yesterday, (well not too unfortunately:)), so was not able to go to the Boca/Tigre match. I watched it on TV though; incredible!!!

Aguante Tigre!!!
