Having gone to plenty of MLS games in a big American football stadium, I can say that staying in Qwest Field is a mistake. Otherwise I support this news.

If the do indeed have the free rent and natural grass that we've heard about I can deal with it. Although they still need a SSS

Bonji, you're wrong. ;)
But the link above says nothing more than we already know, the rumor is an announcement is tomorrow, but they got that rumor from the same place the previous BigSoccer threads got it from.

Qwest is neither a (soccer specific) stadium, nor a quest.
Discuss.

It's a telecommunications company.

Which would explain the "w" in the name?

Congratulations Seattle. As someone who has suffered through 12 miserable years at Giants Stadium, I can't say I'm the least bit excited about soccer in Qwest though.

As someone who has sat through five pretty damn good years at Qwest with not very many butts in the seats I can say that I, for one, am quite thrilled with the prospect.

So. . .
The title of this thread could just as easily be "Major League Announcement on November 18th" and be just as true?

I'm just looking forward to seeing all the Seattle speculation end, and for the Seattle confirmations to begin...

It's great that the league will be expanding but seattle has no plans for a future sss so I think it will be a bad idea to let them in in 2008. If they have plans for an sss by 2009 then they should come to the league because they're only going to lose money.

Why, oh why, does everyone insist on fronting the same old argument? Constantly. In every thread. It's amazing that all these armchair sports economists know more about the business of US Soccer than the people trying to land the franchise (including a guy who has been running a professional soccer franchise for the past five years), and those in position to award the franchise.
There will be no SSS in Seattle for the forseeable future. None. Zero. Come to terms with that, suck it up and deal with it. All the grousing/threats/demands/etc. in the universe won't change that.
