Rangers News:
Portsmouth defender Martin Cranie has joined the club on loan. Other new loanees Rowan Vine and Jason Jarrett could both make their home debuts. Mick Harford remains in charge as caretaker manager in what is likely his last game leading the team before the upcoming 12-day international break before our next game. According to QPR World Michael Mancienne is "a doubt" because of his back problem and Danny Nardiello is "struggling" with his hamstring problem. Sampsa Timoska has recovered from an illness and is available.
The Opponent:
Norwich, too, has had a poor start to the season and currently sits in the relegaton zone. They haven't scored in their last four league games and last five overall (including a League Cup loss to Man City).
The BBC reports "Norwich skipper Jason Shackell is available after suspension.
But Canaries defenders Gary Doherty (groin), Ian Murray (foot) and Adam Drury (back), and striker Jamie Cureton (foot) are all doubtful."
I was fearful that Cureton would perform well against us and won't mind if he misses out!
The Series:
Norwich leads 40-32-36. QPR has two wins and two draws in cup play, so Norwich leads 40-30-34 in league play.
Last season, it was a 3-3 thriller at Loftus Road, while the Canaries bested us, 1-0, at Carrow Road. In 05/06, QPR won at home, 3-0, while Norwich won the return match, 3-2. So, while neither team is scoring much at the moment, there have been 15 goals between them in the last four matches. Before that, the clubs hadn't met since 00/01.
The first meetings between the teams were in the 1909/10 FA Cup and the first meetings in league play were in 1920/21.
