Le Guen And Cayzac Shocked By
PSG Capitulation
Both club president Alain Cayzac and team coach Paul Le Guen found themselves
virtually speechless after Paris Saint-Germain lost out at home yet again, this
time to Rennes...
Paul Le Guen despaired of his young PSG side last night as they slipped
to yet another home defeat against Rennes.
The former Lyon and Rangers boss sighed, "We always have the
impression that things will fall as soon as a goal is scored.
"Earlier I thought we could win the match, I believed in it, but there were
too many insufficiencies.
"We've played six matches here and haven't won a single one! And that's
even more astonishing given the favourable conditions.
"Criticism is normal now, and we must learn to accept it and fix the problems."
Le Guen went on to admit that he wasn't holding out much hope of a result in Valenciennes in a
fortnight's time.
"I'm already thinking ahead to Valenciennes, who seem at ease at home, creating difficulties for us.
"I'm not giving up, but the players need to start playing as I ask them to. I think the problem is in their
behaviour and character, because I'm certainly comphrehensible."
Club president Alain Cayzac stopped short of questioning Le Guen's ability to do his job, but certainly
pulled no punches in expressing his anger.
Much of his disappointment stemmed from the fact that such a performance was, in his view, no way to
honour former club president Francois Borelli, who recently passed away.
"I'm worried and very disappointed," he blasted.
"This of all evenings was not the time to fail, and if a player is afraid to play here at the Parc, then perhaps
they ought to find themselves another job.

"If fear is the reason for the result, then the players have no right whatsoever to be afraid."
The president insisted that now was the time for action.
"I won't let things slide, and I won't accept another season like the previous two," he declared.
"While the players need to be part of a long-term plan, we now need short-term results.
"Having the away team dictate play at our home isn't normal. But I'm not sure that certain players have the
desire to win, and the hatred of defeat, that we need."
PSG sit 14th with 11 points from a possible 30, having picked up three draws and three defeats at home
this season.

We may be terrible, but at least we're not in the relegation zone with Marseille.
