View Full Version : BigSoccer Top 25 Euro Clubs Ranking

ok, everyone here has different opinions over who is the best club in Europe. Everyone also knows that the IFFHS rankings are a joke (seriously, Colo Colo #2 in the world? they aren't even the top 5 in South America and Sevilla #1 in the world?)
So, I was thinking of making a Bigsoccer Top 25 European Club Ranking.
This will be a late edition, but basically, I would start a new poll every week on Monday (after league games) and it could last until say Wednesday or something. Then I will make a list of top vote getters and make the 'Big Soccer Top 25 Ranking'
This will be the first one, and it will close Friday night (before the weekend games). and I'll post the rankings on saturday. If this gets enough good feedback, I'll continue it.
Make your list of top 20 clubs. 20 points for first place, 19 for second .... 1 for 20th (you get the picture).
If you make changes to you rankings, please make them noticeable.
My Rankings:
1) Barcelona (Spa)
2) Arsenal (Eng)
3) Inter Milan (Ita)
4) Real Madrid (Spa)
5) AC Milan (Ita)

Thanks for doing that - just my opinion but you might get a better take up of interested parties if you ran the ranking once a month, every week is a bit much IMO.
Good idea though and repped accordingly

i'd agree with that.
i don't think it would have the same sort of impact if we had to do it every week.
i'll rep you for a great idea as soon as i can.

I pretty much agree with this top 20 except for two places:
Number 9: Instead of Porto I would say Liverpool (Porto would be 13)
Numer 16: Should be Lyon.

Thanks for the input guys.
I thinmk your right, every week might be a little too much. Maybe every 2-3 weeks would be better or maybe after every CL/Uefa fixture

Should this be more about current form & strength, or general strength of the teams?
Because, currently, AC Milan seems not to be in the best shape, nevertheless it is high in your rankings, however Chelsea, are so low that I can pretty much only explain that with their current bad streak. Anyway, my ranking is based on my perception of the general strength, not including current bad form.

my reply was based on strength and form.
That's why AC Milan are 11th. I think they are in some poor form and also have lost strength. They did not sign anyone in the summer except Pato (can't play yet, and 31 year old Brazilian Denilson)
Can't see how Tottenham are in there. I can name 20 teams in Europe that are better.
