Well, there is that but there's also gaelic ;)

Is that Scotish or is it Celtic(not the football team), i thought it was a shared language between Scots, the welsh and Irish? If i'm wrong feel free to correct me and pardon my ingnorance.

Scottish and Irish (and Manx) Gaelic all come from the same branch of Celtic language but are different. Welsh comes from a different branch of Celtic language.

P.S. The Scots don't have a language.

Actually we have two, one is Gaelic and the other is Lowland Scots.

Scotland will have revenge on their minds. We helped in their non-qualification for the WC...

Well let them first pass the Ukraine test...

Hampden was superb today. It's usually great but today was the best that I can remember.

Unfortunately not. Although it would mean that we only needed to draw with Italy in the last game to win the group.

The reality is that, despite some phenomenal results, we still have a tough job to qualify. But this team has been excellent and I know that, qualify or not, they won't let us down.

I was flicking between the England and Scotland games and the difference in the crowd was incredible. I doubt that we'll ever get the old Hampden Roar back, but it's still an incredible atmosphere when on song.

IMO, Scotland, Italy, and France would be a great addition to the EURO 08. All 3 have played really well and better than some of the squads that are leading their groups! What terrible seeding.

To be fair, based on the last two qualifying campaigns we did deserve to be 4th seeds but the turnaround has been so quick that we are clearly well above that level now. As soon as Berti Vogts resigned, we improved under Walter Smith and we seem to have improved further under Alex McLeish.

There's no doubting that Scotland, Italy and France (and probably Ukraine) would have easily qualified from some of the weaker groups.

It would be a bit churlish to begrudge them qualification now, it would also be stooping to their level, I want them to get there so we can watch them crash out in the group stage as always with the comforting, self pitying but at the same time melodic harmony that is "Don't Come Home to Soon" as the sweet backdrop to thousands of grown men in skirts dabbing at their weeping eyes, it's one of my favourite things in all sport.

Well, that's a law of nature. :D

Anyway, I hope you guys qualify for Euro 08 together with Italy.

Congratulations Scots.

For so long a pitiful, hapless and downright embarrassing motley
crew of clowns; only to turn the tables on your persecutors by
scraping a few good results with defensive, ultra-negative and
technically inept but brave and spirited performances.

Of course, some snide disparagers may argue that the only
reason Celtic beat Milan was because the classy Milanese
did not want to seriously compete in the lashing rain on
a cold night in a dystopian Glaswegian hovel against
minnows from a Mickey Mouse league for fear of
getting injured and thus being made unavailable
for future matches against serious opponents in
the knockout stages; and those selfsame critics
may opine that the only reason Scotland are
currently atop their Euro 2008 group is because
of a couple of flukey wins against the considerably
more talented and vastly more attractive soccer
nation of France; but to them we can only, in
fierce unified opposition, cry 'Hogwash!'.

Arrogance gets punished very often ... so you should rather stop such silly comments in Italy's current situation!

Who's to say IF we got there(and i really think its still an outside chance), we would crash out at group level? Look what Greece achieved 4 years ago? If we make it to Euro 2008 out of a group with Europe's two highest ranked sides, then we could go to Austria & Switzerland fearing no one.
