Let's all write poems together. They can be funny, sad, both, whatever you want, so long as they have something to do with football, yeah?

the touch....
the feel....
of soccer....
the fabric of our lives!

Football is the greatest game,
Nay religion, nay the same,
Love, life, passion, regret,
Two down by half time, but still to lose yet.
Vengeance, jealousy, anger, disdain,
Relief from your life, from the pressures and pain,
Smiles, laughter, joy and pride,
Watching your team beating some other side.
It gives us our bread, for which we are grateful,
Gives us our church in which we do pray,
Our brotherhood singing, both happy and hateful,
Holds ransom the thought of another dull day.
Where else can we find such utter excitement?
What else do we know that we love all the same?
Are our Gods, namely Pele, Beckham and Figo,
Just players, just playing this "funny old game"?
