Not for anything good he did, though. They've got a 'video highlights' of Tim Howard, and Howards save of Tino's chip is on it. Good shot of Tino with his head in his hands in disbelief.;) (Video pretty much sucks, btw).

I am bound by the principles of humanity to not go to that site.

I actually had to laugh out loud at that!

That's about as close as Tino will ever get to Man Utd.

Whatever happened to those rumors about him and EJ going there, anyway?

Wow, that video really does suck.

Well first off, I think the last thing that site and team needs is another bandwagoning foreigner visiting their website.

Secondly, the last thing that I care to do short of poking my eye out with a scrap of aluminum from my crumbled up coke can is to relive that moment and that match.

Thanks for nothing. Really.

No problem, anytime.;)

That sure is one crappy piece of video. Surely one of the biggest, richest clubs in the world could've found better footage, and put together a better piece.

That save on 'tino is pretty sick.

I still think his save on Ivanov was better

I would agree about the save on Ivanov. I'm still not sure how he made that save. I was out of my chair jumping for joy only to discover the save had been made.

{Seconds later of course I was kicking that same chair across the room - thanks Gavin}

Didn't they go train there, last October?

No.

Look at the poll halfway down the page, about who should start against Bolton in the opener next month. Timmy is leading with nearly 70% of the poll! Are the scum doing some poll stuffing?

They evaporated with 90% of the other BS that is put out on these boards (And I think 90% is being generous when it comes to talk about United players having "interest" over seas) :D

Did you hear about the tabloids in the UK when the story first broke? My goodness it was ruthless. Many papers out-and-out made fun of his condition...

The fiver (http://football.guardian.co.uk/fiver/) was a little rough on him today (and I know it's a satirical publication).

From FootballUnlimited.com:

MOUTHING OFF

First there was Alex Stepney, who in 1975 screamed at central defender Martin Buchan so hard he dislocated his jaw (his own, not Buchan's.) Then there was Peter Schmeichel, who had vitriol for saliva. Continuing this theme, Manchester United today signed another goalkeeper with no control of his mouth: Tourette's Syndrome-sufferer Tim Howard. And it didn't take the 24-year-old American long to demonstrate the neurological disorder that causes tics and abrupt, involuntary sounds and utterances. "I am overjoyed to be signing for the best club in the world," blurted Howard, as the assembled throng checked their copies of Rothmans.

Normally, putting a press conference microphone in front of someone with Tourette's would be considered risky. But with Alex Ferguson, they've been doing it at Old Trafford for years. However, Fergie just about managed to reign in the usual eff-word-strewn stuff and mischievously compared Howard's dominating style to Schmeichel's. "It's flattering," spat Howard. "[Schmeichel's] standards are so high it's nearly impossible to live up to them."

Of course, first he has to live up to Fabien Barthez's standards. "I think [Howard] has a great chance of being first choice," s******************ed Ferguson, having first speed-dialled Fabien's number on his mobile. "The one thing you can never guarantee any footballer is his place in the team," he added when the call connected. Unfortunately, Fergie had got through to Juan Sebastian Veron-and-off, who is likely to move to Chelsea if United can sign Brazilian midfielder Kleberson.

But they did do a nice piece on him here (http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,1563,998941,00.html), while mentioning TS.

Ah, British journalism. Gotta love it. Skip the professionalism and go straight for the most offensive possible angle. Even for a satirical rag, that's pretty low.

It's my understanding that Howard has been a spokesman/posterguy for TS; he was certainly a big part of the Metros' charitable outreach efforts. Here's hoping he has the opportunity to keep that up in the UK. And, of course, the best of luck to him (until he actually steps foot on the pitch wearing a ManU kit... :)

It wouldn't surprise me in the least. "Ooooh, look at us, our players are good enough for Manchester United!" [/scumfan] Just one more thing to make me sick to my friggin' stomach about the MetroScum.

That Save on Q1 and the one on Ivanov caused ME to have symptoms closely resembling Tourrette's. :}
