Looks like Sneijder's not playing tonight, Van Nistelrooy and Seedorf had already gone home, and Robben and Van Persie are of course injured. It's pretty clear that this isn't a normal qualifier; nowhere near Holland's best starting XI.

Arguing against the teeth of evidence is not gonna make you right even if you argue the same dumb point until eternity.

It's funny how you seem to think that it's in Germany's hands somehow.

It is in Germany's hands because they are currently behind Holland.

Remember we are talking about a race NOT to finish in first. So entering the day out of pot #1 (as Germany is at this moment), means you control your own destiny. (ie If Germany loses, then they are not a top seed, regardless of other results)

So if Germany wins today, they're a #1 seed, if they tie they're likely a #3 seed and if they lose, they're a #4 seed. It's a more important game than people think.

I hope they'll win. So they keep their pride in opposition to the netherlands. It doesn't matter in which pot you are, you need to beat every team.

Holland, you lost some respect today (although I can understand that neither we nor you are responsible for that UEFA mess...). I hope we win.

Looks like Germany doesn't want to win either...I hope they show a better performance in the second half.

not cool holland not cool at all. CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now we'll be in 1st pot. I seriously wish german fans would start throwing things into the pitch to get the game called off.

So what if we're in Pot 1. If it was our attitude to try to get the easiest route we shouldn't participate at all. We'll just have to beat everyone. That has to be our attitude, no matter if it's Belarus, Wales or Holland.

Germany will win. We hit the post already and were close to scoring...they will score.

Czech Republic (2.333)
Sweden (2.273)

Pot 3:
Romania (2.250)
Germany (2.250)
Portugal (2.192)
Spain (2.182)

Pot 4:
Poland (2.167)

I don't think so. After the poor display against Wales I think we're either in Pot 2 or 3. Can anyone supply the math?

Pot 3 it is, which is better than Pot 1 after all. But not as great as Pot 2 ;)

We can still end up in a group of death, can't we.

My personal wish is to not end up in a group with either Turkey or Poland because of demographics.

Sure, but Holland is pretty much guaranteed to get a group of death. But I would have actually wanted Germany to be there. What could be better than to emerge from a group of death?

I can understand that you want to avoid Turkey...but Poland?

they're both fine for me. I just don't want to play against Italy.

We really should not end up in one group with Italy or France. The rest of the teams are more or less doable, I don't think it is so much better to be in the 3rd pot compared to the 1st one. I mean a group of NL - I - D and F is still possible, that would be erm at least quite interesting.

It would be quite good not to be in a group with Turkey, but that is also true for any of the top 1 team (for Greece less because of demographics, but whatever). I don't think Poland would be as bad, I'd actually consider Russia worse.

When will the groups be drawn?

Yeah a Group with Italy and Germany means no final between them.
