i still am having a hard time believing this....this was our EASY game....how did this happen??

i mean our midfield looked like swiss cheese in the second half....and it looked like we had amputees out there trying to handle the ball! i couldnt count the number of turnovers to cause odd-man rushes....its just dumbfounding

So how does it feel to be the first to loose to Olympiakos at home in the 32nd try?:eek:

You give too little credit to Olympiakos, they played out of their skins...

i dont mean to undercut the Greeks, they put us in our place and took advantage of our mistakes....shut us down in the midfield. BUT this was our game to lose...

ditto....we have humongous pressure on us now....no more draws or losses are acceptable....we MUST go out to win every game left if we want to advance

I'm sorry but in case you didn't know, in 31 times Olympiakos have never won a CL away match. Until today.

On the weekend they looked scared against Aris in Greece. Your recent win by a large margin meant I could just see the 4-0, 5-0 etc scoreline. I'm just shocked is all.

They'll remember this game forever.

I honestly don't think so. They gave a wonderful effort, yes, but Bremen also just seemed to stop pushing.

What I saw was a matter of desire overcoming superior talent.......

I agree.

It was more about Bremen's bad performance than about Panathinaikos good play.

Werder Bremen 1-3 Olympiakos: First away win (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/report?id=228780&cc=3888)

Excerpt from soccernet.com

BREMEN, October 3 (Champions League) - Olympiacos finally registered their first away win in the Champions League at the 32nd attempt after coming from behind to see off Werder Bremen.

It looked as though it would be another miserable trip for the visitors when they fell behind to Hugo Almeida's 32nd-minute opener.

But Panagiotis Lemonis' side stormed back, equalising through Ieroklis Stoltidis before late goals from Christos Patsatzoglou and Darko Kovacevic secured a dramatic win...

well EE summed it up with his earlier post...

this is still do-able.

lazio and madrid drawing sent neither team out of reach. Werder are only 4 pts away from 1st place so 3 wins and a draw from here should see them through. Maybe even 2 wins and 2 draws.
