Who are Reading's main rivals?

Oxford United, Swindon Town, and Aldershot FC/Town (although the two haven't met since the reformation). All of these teams are far below Reading in the league pyramid, and the last time Reading played any of them was in 2004, when Reading beat Oxford United 2-0 in the League Cup.

Our main rivals have always been Aldershot though they went bust in 1992 and were booted out the league. They reformed immediately and have since worked their way back up the leagues and are currently doing well near the top of the conference.

Due to our local derby being effectively ended in 1992 our matches against slightly farther afield (but still fairly local) Swindon & Oxford took on a more important role (they see each other as much bigger rivals than they see us though)

Bizzarly, Bournemouth cannot stand Reading and many of their fans see us as their big rivals, the rivaly is very much one way.

Thanks for the info guys. Sounds like Reading have outgrown all their nearby rivals in recent years and have yet to develop any really strong rivalries since reaching the premiership. True?

Brighton fans also seem to intensely dislike Reading, seemingly on the grounds that we have a nice ground, and they haven't, and we had a bit of money, and they didn't, and we've been successful lately, and they haven't. And we nicked their manager.
