The game just started and no thread so i'm throwing one up, ghetto-style. baros, fabio santos, and kallstrom are starters. i'm not predicting a lot of goals here...
edit: oh and bodmer is back as center back.....uggh

Nearly 25 minutes into the game, and not even a shot on goal. Lens however have two.

its hard for me to say since im following the game via match commentary on eurosport, but based on that it seems like Fabio Santos is the man of the match so far.:D

I'm following commentary too. I can't see to find the game anywhere.
Fabio Santos was captain of Cruzeiro, so obviously he had his qualities for which he was recruited. But he's never been given the opportunity to express himself. The few games he has played have been sporadic, and without regular play it's hard to play well.
I'm glad he's done well - he deserves to play more often.

The lineup:
Vercoutre
Clerc - Squillaci - Bodmer - Grosso
Santos - Toulalan - Juninho
Keita - Baros - Kallstrom
Bench: Hartock, Belhadj, Paillot, Réveillère, Benzema, Mounier, Govou
What I would like to know is why Ben Arfa isn't even listed on the bench?!?!?

See this is why I sometimes worry about Perrin's tactics. I can see that he's trying to put out some type of rotation squad today but you need to have some quality on the bench when , and if, things start to go wrong.

I just want Lyon to raise their level of play in the second half. They arent getting nearly enough opportunities considering they are playing at home. My sense is that Juni is having another off night.

the lensois are already starting to suffer physically, and lyon are holding onto the ball trying to wear them out even more. i want to see OL start to turn the screws in the final 20 minutes and really unleash some attack.

Upon further thought, maybe Perrin is pulling a Domenech and wants Ben Arfa to play the full 90 minutes with the reserves as opposed to only 10 minutes with the senior team. At least I hope it's that reason.
Juninho out for Benzema.

Juninho out for Benzema.
I hate to say it but i think this was needed to get some momentum going in this game.

OL appear to be more dangerous already with Benzema on the pitch. The 4-4-2 or the fact that a fresh, fast Benzema is making runs at a tired Lens defense seems to be making the difference.

Lens could have had a penalty after Toulalan's handball in the box, but the referee didn't whistle it. That makes it fair since Lyon didn't get a penalty for the foul on Baros.

I spoke too soon because Lens are trying and nearly succeeding to pull one back. first toulalan appears to hand the he ball in the penalty area and next Lens get a shot off that beats Vercoutre but goes narrowly wide.
at any rate the game seems to have come to life....Kallstrom goes close at the other end.
