Yup, he NEEDS to play in Euro 08. A great sub with his dribbling and speed.

Marin is called "matchbox" by the Fans.

And yes Marin is together with Kroos the biggest talent germany has to offer, he had again some wonderfull scenes in the game vs Aachen and i still hope that there is a slim chance that he might get considered for the EC if he plays a good season.

hehe, marin is a very bright talent, but...

kroos is a 1 in 25 years player with a complete game

can't compare

I would be careful with that statement because you can never really predict how a player will develop in the end. Especially players as young as Kroos and Marin are.

Ricken, Deisler, Scholl are propably the most prominet exmples for that

kroos' game is without a doubt on a different level to deisler, ricken or scholl's

they had their limitations on the field. This guy can see everything bar nothing

anyway, this is the marin thread

He's our biggest talent (even better than Deisler, Jansen & Polanski), but he still has to learn when it's better to stop a dribbling and pass the ball.

Regarding to his playing style, he reminds me of the young Pierre Littbarski.

That's too early for him (for Kroos as well). Give him time to develope...

Even better than deisler? In what way?

For Kroos definitely (you'd have to be insane to say sth. other than that) but Marin may be able to make it. But that's doubtful as well since at the moment Schalke's Özil should be a tad closer to the NT and he's a similar player, only a couple of steps ahead. And Jogi won't be taking two teenagers to the Euro...if any.

Mehmet Scholl??? I can agree with Ricken and Deisler but Scholl?? How is that??

He was injured quite a lot and I think he never fully reached his potential.

Leinad

well Scholl never made the step to being a worldclass player due to his injuries (he could never play a WC for example) but Scholl had great games in the CL for Bayern so he became at least a player of international class.

Ricken was a good youngster but nothing more. I think ppl expected too much of him cause of his CL goal in the final but i seriously never understood why he was considered as an exceptional talent (even Özil for Schalke showed more in the BL games so far and in his youth teams).
Noone would hype him nowadays because there isnt anymore a lack of german talents and i think thats why Ricken was rated so highly cause there were simply no other young players around.

Anyways, im sure that Kroos will develop into a top class player, his game is just too complete to not succedd and only injuries could stop him. Marin is a bit harder to predict cause he is a flair player but he has also everything to become a top player.
As long as both dont suffer any major injuries it would be a surprise for me if they dont become NT players one day and exactly those injuries are the major reason for the examples named here why they never could play to their full potential.
