I coordinate communications for a university journalism school... graphic design, writing, event planning, etc.
We have a speaker series and just brought her here to give a public talk – so I kind of host her during the day while she's here and take her to interviews, etc.
I'm not a big fan of my job, but so far I've gotten to meet some cool people. James Nachtwey (war photographer), Lisa Ling, Bob Woodward, David Halberstam, and Frank Deford all have come in the past year.

Antifan, you don't think it would be interesting to meet Bob Woodward or Frank Deford? I guess they're more interesting to me since I'm interested in journalism, but... come on, Woodward and Bernstein basically took down Nixon! Plus, Robert Redford played him in a movie!!! :p

Were I not afraid of losing my job, I'd tell Frank DeFord what an asshole he is for being a soccer-basher and then I'd remind him that the day when sports consisted of boxing, baseball and horse racing went out with the introduction of color TV.
My law school roommate had a college job meeting, greeting and escorting VIPs around Emory. He told me the most impressive person he met was Alex Haley; the biggest jerk was Steven Stills.
I would really have liked to meet David Halberstam. I consider you fortunate for having the chance. "Summer of '49" is one of the best sports books I've ever read.
