If only the Red Bulls would be building a stadium right off the PATH (light rail) that NYC'ers could easily get to...

Back to reality. The costs of building stadiums is out of control in NYC. The league wants teams to have SSS's and control all revenue. I'm confident that you could probably play in a shack in queens or brooklyn and people WILL SHOW UP. The only problem that might drive people away would be the level of opponents.
As a suggestion, for the Queens team, why not play at St Johns University? They have a soccer field and all the infrastructure to handle a big event(s).

Just 3k? It looks a lot bigger than that. Im not talking about the baseball stadium. Well if you consider that it only has stands on one side you might be right.

It says here that NYC's Population is equivalent to the next 3 largest cities in the USA. (LA, Houston, chicago) If you don't live in this area please don't talk sh#t cuz you CAN'T know what you are talking about. Put a team in NYC and they will come.
Population (from wikipedia)
New York is the largest city in the United States, with a city proper population more than double the next largest city, Los Angeles (or roughly equivalent to the combined populations of Los Angeles, Chicago, and Houston, America's second, third, and fourth most populous cities respectively). The estimated 2005 population of New York City is 8,213,839 (up from 7.3 million in 1990).[3] This amounts to about 40% of New York State's population and a similar percentage of the metropolitan regional population. Over the last decade the city has been growing rapidly. Demographers estimate New York's population will reach between 9.2 and 9.5 million by 2030.[23] In 2000 the life expectancy of New Yorkers surpassed that of the United States national average. Life expectancy for females born in 2000 in New York City is 80.2 years and for males is 74.5 years.[24]
New York's two key demographic features are its density and diversity. The city has an extremely high population density of 26,403 people per square mile (10,194/kmē), about 10,000 more people per square mile than the next densest large American city, San Francisco.[25] Manhattan's population density is 66,940 people per square mile (25,846/kmē).[7]
The city has a long tradition of attracting international immigration and Americans seeking careers in certain sectors. As of 2006, New York City has ranked number one for seven consecutive years as the U.S. city people would most like to live in or near.[26]

Well I dont know if Wilpon has decided on anything yet or not. The only thing that I do know is that he said that Shea Stadium will not be demolished. That leads to speculate about a remodelled Shea serving as a SSS for a Mets soccer franchise.
I've seen soccer games at SHEA and its not a pretty picture. If they can remodel it to allow for better seating and viewing it might work. Shea is located in what I would consider the soccer center of all NYC, CORONA.

I agree that is the perfect location for a team. I didn't know that they weren't taking Shea down. any reason as to why? he must be thinking of something.

In the interview that I read with Wilpon he was asked about the demolition of Shea. He alluded to it not being demolished. This gave rise to the speculation that he might remodel it and use it for soccer.
Frankly I think its a BRILLANT idea. A 55k SSS is needed in this league. And NYC proper needs a COMPETITIVE with STAR on it for this league to really fly. The WORLD looks at NYC and today they dont see ANYTHING!

Fat chance that Shea is staying, considering it's already been confirmed it's being torn down to make way for Citi Field's parking lot, just look at the relation to the two:

Shea is going.

Mr. Oneonta sir, then you would agree that building an 80,000 seat stadium in a town of about 8,000 people is really really really stupid?
Because, you know, that's happening, and it will sell out every game.
That's why the MetroBulls are a NJ team and nothing more.
Could you vary your lines a bit, it's getting repetitive?

I think that there is a difference between E. Rutherford and Harrison. I'm just sorry you can't see it.
And yes the Red Bulls are a NJ team! You are a Metro Bull fan, aren't you, and where do you live again?
