Nah I'm with you NM, I searched for a baseball thread, the only ones I could find were last updated in 06.
My Cubbies are doing the usual - stretching a division lead to a few games, then blowing it, wash rinse and repeat. They can't close anything. The NL Central has been absolutely pathetic - no team from it should be in the playoffs.

Same story last season, and then boom - Cards win WC out of nowhere.

It's been so strange rooting for the Cards this past week. Nice to see them relegated to spoiler status.
I think we'll still get in, but damn it's nerve-wracking. Got to see them beat the Cards 2 weekends ago at Busch. It was awesome - I love being the away fan at the home stadium, especially when we win. This fat ho next to us was talkin shit, said "Soriano could never hit a homer in THIS stadium." Right after that, boy blasts one out, just ten feet in front of us. We couldn't stop laughing at her.

Mets' collapse has been just incredible. I thought the Red Sox would blow it, but it's really on the Mets now.
I like watching the game all season, but the people who argue that it's really only September have a point. It's a great time though.

Seriously the 93 Phillies team is my fav american sports team of all time and right behind the 99 united as my alltime fav sports team...
I was there for just about every game in 93 had a season ticket and was there when we clinch the NLCS in game 7 vs the Braves, but the phillies team this year is starting to come close ! we have the worst pitching staff I have ever seen for a baseball team but they just never give up! I am hoping we end up with the Mets in the NLCS bc we have own the mets this year ! Oh and if J-Roll doesn't get the MVP this year big big injust

Best World Series ever for a neutral fan--and I was rooting for the Braves.
Yeah for baseball talk I usually either post on the Baseball forum here or on another Red Sox forum I occasionally go to.
Geez, how about that NL race. Go... er... Rockies! :D Nah I'm not gonna jump on the bandwagon, but its exciting to watch.

You clinched the NLCS in 6 games that year. Joe Carter made up for it though. :p

I am a fan of Jimmy, no complaints there. You never hear about the top class guys like him, only assholes like Milton Bradley.

Go ahead and root for the Rockies actually, I know I am. My buddy Garrett Atkins is on that team.
Anyway, getting my Angels playoff tickets in the mail any day now. :D

Can you imagine what it was like for a Twins fan??? I was just six years old then but I was a huge Twinks fan as a kid (Puckett in particular, obviously). I knew the whole team, positions, line-up etc. It was crazy to watch.
Looking back the Puckett catch and home run were my favorite parts as a kid, but now I think I have even more appreciation for Jack Morris' 10 shut-out innings in game 7. I mean, who does that?
There were so many memorable moments from that series. Hrbek pulling a Braves player off first base to make the tag... and getting the call! I could go on all day I think. :D
