Everyone (except Ballack & Bridge) should be available for this game, no? Granted Physioroom cant taken as gospel but surely at least Ricky and Lamps should be back, no?

Bridge will get some minutes, as will Sinclair apparently.
All the others (Lamps, Didier and Ricky) with the exception of Ballack (who isn't that far away anyway) should be back in 1-2 weeks.

There shouldn't be any reason to rush anybody back for this game. Even if we play youngsters and we lose, well then we can knock off talking about the quadruple right away.
A loss might save Grant's job!

Rosenborg.........don't jump to any conclusions.

Don't think we should take this or any other game for granted, learning from Blackburn and Rosenborg.
That said, a healthy 2-0 win for us is what I'm looking for.

The difference is that Rosenborg is a lot better than Hull City. Even a Hull City fan would tell you that I'm sure.

I'm not so sure about that. I can't say I know much about Hull, but they have some very good players who have played in the Premiership. I can't say the same for Rosenborg.

Yeah I don't know much about either, either, but just because a team has former Premier League players, doesn't mean that they're a good team. Usually, there's a reason they don't play in the Premier League any more.

Isn't Okocha at Hull now? Should be interesting to see him again.

on the injury front, according to the beeb:
"Chelsea are without Frank Lampard (thigh) and Didier Drogba (knee), while Mikel Jon Obi is suspended.
Ricardo Carvalho (back) is not yet ready to return, while Michael Ballack and Wayne Bridge are both still sidelined with ankle injuries."<!-- E SF -->

This is the first round we can play in the weakest competition we are in. Jose got the axe for some reason. My guess: Grant will want to prove he's not the same manager Mourinho was, so we will see an almost youth/reserve squad.
I'm not discounting Hull. I think the odds Chelsea will be beaten are about 40-60. At this point, though, is that a bad thing? Obviously, winning cups at Chelsea will not save you your job. Today.
I wonder what the situation will be in a year or two.

Yep, it'll be very interesting as I've never actually seen him in a live game. :)
Hopefully he has a bit of action for us, as long as it doesn't involve Hull scoring, or coming near to it. :D

If we can't go out and make a statement with a resounding win against Hull then we are in trouble. We should dominate this match and I would love to see some youth get a run out. This match should be at least 4-0, no disrespect to Hull, but we don't need any more scrappy victories, we are playing Hull not Prem opposition. We need a big victory to fill the team with confidence going into the weekend. While the statement "a win is a win", may have applied previously during Jose tenure, that seige mentality that would grind and fight for results is not needed against this type of team, we need to win and win big. Go out with the idea of dominating the other team with our football. I tempo, movement, opens spaces for chances, and hopefully some goals. We need speed in attack and good passing tomorrow, and especially finishing.
Hull has Okocha, one of my favorites, but he is past it, still he has the skill to humiliate some of our players and make something happen. Physically though Maka and Essien should have no problem dealing with him. Siddy, if he starts, needs to really let lose and play that free game he had at Reading. He was need and tidy yes, but he could come out with some audacious passing at times. He plays more naturally in a deep position like Carrick, not really an attacking midfield position like Lampard. More of a passer, from what I remember at Reading. Still not Chelsea class I'm afraid (I'll be surprised if he doesn't at the end of this season, either with a loan or a permanent move, or the next) but he surely can do the job against Hull. Still I think they may be very combative and he doesn't seem the best player under pressure.
Calm passing, quick passing, no holding of the ball, keep it simple. That is how the whole midfield should play. Quick passing no thinking, just pass the ball in a forward direction to an open player. Simple.

But that reason is usually not an inability or lack of desire to deliver a good kicking to the ankles on a cold wet, sprinkles probably been on for a week in the rain, night which they will be well up for, one of their biggest games of the year,
It was never likely to be easy in the best of times, it is not going to be now, especially without Drogs and Lamp
