If Tevez had converted more of the sitters he's missed he'd be our top scorer right now.
It's shaping up to be an interesting contest. Will be interesting to see who scores the most minus pens.

It is amazing to me how many times Ronaldo creates a goal, that technically isn't an assist.

Actually, yesterday's "assist" counted in the official premiership stats. Doesn't count by DS' definition so not included here.

Which we only further confuse us.

I was more referring to the deflections he causes with the bullets he shoots at the goal, but yeah that too.

We debated that to death and the explanation DS gave, that I agree with, is that because Tevez still had to beat a marker and effectively "make" the goal, it went unassisted.
We all recognize the value of the pass to the goal, however - in order to fully appreciate these numbers at seasons end, the pass before a goal, if work was done to score the goal afterwards, cannot be considered a goal.

Is there any footnote for a "dummy" that sets up a goal?

This time last season our Ronnie had 6 goals to his name for United. All of them in the league and they came against Fulham, Reading, Bolton, Porstsmouth, Everton and City.
By the end of December, he doubled his tally to 12 by scoring a brace in three consecutive games in the Xmas fixtures against Villa, Wigan and Reading.

So seeing as he's got 14 already, I think he should aim for minimum 30 goals in all competition this year.

That would be clutch, considering that the big CL games are around the corner.

Ronaldo has 11 goals in, what? 14 league games or something?
He's on his way to 25ish if he remains fit, which will be historic given the position he plays.

Ronaldo has 16 goals already, thats as many as Rooney AND Tevez put together. Monster that lad!
And now he's the top scorer in the league and the CL.
