That's to be expected of every great player. Note Messi, Ronaldinho in his prime, Kaka, Totti, etc... Ronaldo is just expected to step up in big games, rather than sulking and sitting out because he's not getting the same space he does against weaker sides.

You have your point with Totti. Kaka has Pirlo and Gattuso, Ronaldinho and Messi have each other (complete with Eto'o and Deco to boot), but Ronaldo only really has one truly superstar and world class player that links with him directly: Rooney. And even some people would debate that.

Tevez? I don't think this theory holds much truth though.

2 more and Best's record is tied!
I love how Ronaldo has a gaol drought (doesnt score in 3 games:D) and then balances out his goal to game ratio of 1 to 1 with 2 goals. or at least keeps in more in balance, not completely 1 to 1.

It might be 1 to 1 if we look at minutes played.

Nani's assist tally is impressive considering the amount of games he has played in.

What I see really alarming looking at the goal scorers list is that Saha is the fourth highest scorer on the team with 5 games. Has he even played 5 games all season??? Just imagine his potential goal haul if he was healthy the full season.

Unfortunatly that also shows at how little help Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez are getting from the rest of the team when it comes to scoring.

Finish what? Its not like he had clear cut chances at goals here.

I was wondering the same thing...

The thing with Anderson is his play stops about five yards from the box. I don't know if it is he doesn't think he can score or if he is told to, but considering the runs I have seen from him you would think he would keep going. It is like he is afraid to shoot at times. It has been getting better, but he is a long way from the free wheeling way Nani goes about it.

I think Anderson is definitely told not to advance in too much, thats probably the reason why he stops around the area you stated. In the games where he has gotten forward more frequently, he had more cover behind him.

It's very nice to see a central midfield contribution to both the goals and assists columns.

I thought about that today and I've come to the conclusion that after reading the board, Fergie had a word with the CMs.

I'm actually quite disappointed by Vida's goal contribution this campaign. Considering last year, he was looking like a monster on corners and set pieces.
