What/why/when/how did you all become Chelsea fans?

well i was born and raised in Ukraine. So football was very popular within us, we played everyday in the sand. Obviously I was too young to comrehend that there exists a place where soccer is not the most loved sport. Unfortunately I had the pleasure of moving to such a country at the age of 13. Adapting to a new country with new culture and somewhere where soccer was not played at all, I ended up sort of forgetting about it as a kid. I always respected soccer and never turned to hate, I just didnt know that there was such a thing such as the EPL..because I was never exposed to it.

I eventually ended up traveling to Portugal on vacation. This was during the Champions League and because I went with my parents I ended up trying to entertain myself at various Bars. Soccer was on every television set in every bar, and from my love for soccer form my childhood days..i ended up watching every game. A few of which were Chelsea game, I love the charisma of Jose and I loved the neat football Chelsea played at the moment of the game. Immediately I was hooked.

When I got back to the states I was feening for some soccer, I ended up watching a lot of soccer on the local Mexican channels..because thats all I had access to.

I think one of the happiest days of my life was when I realized that such a channel as Fox Soccer Channel existed here..I ordered it right away and havent turned back since. Been watching every single Chelsea game since then...if its not on Fox Soccer then I catch it on the live streams.

Became a follower of the Chelsea in 2002 after seeing Gianfranco Zola play. I liked the way he played and I liked watching Terry and Lampard. I almost became an Arsenal fan at the urging of a friend but I said f that and followed Chelsea to this day. Got interested in soccer after the WC 02, decided to follow the leagues and I told myself if I don't like it I can at least be happy with myself and admit that I gave it a fair chance. I watched every match to choose my team too.

The day I got Fox soccer channel. There was a special called "World Football" or something of the sort on, and it had a segment on Gianfranco Zola. I decided right then that I would support Chelsea.

Oh and it helped that the next day they beat Manchester United 1-0, a result I could shove in the face of my Manure supporting friends. :D

I started last year, after the World Cup. I could not stand not watching soccer so I decided to support a club. One of my favorite players in the cup, Didier Drogba, played for Chelsea, as did Shevchenko. It was then that I decided to follow Chelsea, and research more about the team. I found the official site, and have been regularly checking up ever since then.

growing up in SW ontario, canada i grew up a fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs (hockey), and they wear classic blue and white, so naturally chelsea was an easy pick when i was a kid. not only that, my uncle is a life-long chelsea supporter since i think the 60's. so he had a massive influence on my supporting chelsea and learning the game in general. lastly, watching players like zola and dennis wise back in the day was a pleasure....hell i was even a flo fan, haha. in the end, i really cannot see myself supporting any other club than chelsea no matter what happens in the future.

c'mon you blues!!!!

I started supporting Chelsea about 1983. I had previously supported Liverpool because in the school I went to in N.Ireland you had either to support Liverpool or MU! It was Liverpool v MU in the school play ground every lunch time.
As I hit teenage years I discovered Liverpool's connections with the Irish and being part of the British community in N.Ireland I soon dropped my support. I wanted a new 'British' team and couldn't find any better than the Chelsea blues! It all sounds very silly now but that's how it happened for me.
