Thanks!

When I had FSC and GOL TV for a few months on my Directv package, I wasn't too impressed at all. GOL TV shows to much Bundesliga,Colombian and central american soccer, so I ended up canceling it. And FSC is just plain out boring. I cant wait to move into my new house so I can switch to Dish and get Globo and PFC :)

That is exactly what I thought of both of those channels. Not to mention on the rare occasions they did show Brazilian league games, the announcing was awful.

Yeah, PFC is definitely the best. by the way, since i just got PFC (and TV Globo) during the summer, is it true that PFC will be broadcasting Portuguese league games beginning in October?

Hope that rumor is true. Hope they start broadcasting major games from Europe too so I don't have to rely on GOL TV, FSC or TV clandestina pela net rsrssrs.

only pfc.
globo would never give their brazilian championship rights to american/hispanic tv. they did in the past, but since globo created an exclusively channel for their soccer (PFC), i don't see it happening.
PFC is the only way to go.

Well if that is the case, then good. No one gives up their rights to show Libertadores games, Sul-Americana games and Seleção friendlies.

I think PFC is OK, but if you are paying $10 (or $20 ) USD per month a for a sports channel, I would like to be able to watch EVERY SERIE A BRASILEIRAO MATCH LIVE. Which means...If they playing 4 games on a sunday afternoon, they should have spare channels that they can use when they are multiple game live. Like sports stations such as SPORTV in Brasil, YES and MSG in the United States. That is my biggest turn off right now with PFC...if I'm paying for the channel (which I am) i would like to see the matches that I want, not the goes that gauchada, mineirada, cariocada ou paulistada wants...

GolTV and FSC no longer show any brazilian soccer.
Globo and PFC are pretty much the only way to go.
I don't think Band has any international rights to broadcast league games?
As far as going cable, I think it's possible, but very difficult, because the actual broadcast feed can only come from satellite. A cable company would have to cut a deal with Globo where they could receive a satellite feed and rebroadcast it via cable. It's possible something like this is already in the works, but it's certainly more difficult to do.

Its not a matter of technical feasibility or limitation. This is already possible and Globo is already available in cable in certain markets such as Florida, Massachussets and New Jersey (maybe). I think the biggest blocking factor is agreements in place with satellite companies to have exclusive rights or deny the channels to some big cable companies OR failure of cable companies to reach a revenue sharing agreement with GLOBO.
I know alot of people from the NYC and sarrounding area would love to see GLOBO/PFC offered by Time Warner/RCN/Cablevision. The only way to get this done is for enough people to go the web site or call your cable operator and demand to have GLOBO/PFC. Enough demand usually makes a dent.

I know several people in NYC that have Time Warner and got an extra stupid dish on the side to watch the damn globo. I have called globo international in the past and they said they wont' have it on cable in NYC. I guess that the way is get to Time Warner, but enough people must get in touch with them. I don't care for globo I want PFC.

Any updates on this. My friend also reported to see that message on the same channel. I have Time Warner both in my office in Manhattan and at home in Queens. I tried to tune into that channel 513 at both locations and the channel simply doesn't exist. Would they put the message while they were negotiating with Globo before closing any deal? What would take them this long?
Any opinions?
