So we get to go to the top of the table for a League Cup tie. Joy. Hopefully they play their kiddies so we can get a result, because their first teamers are in such good form I don't know if 11 Alan Shearers could beat them.

lmao.
i agree. i watched their last game and they are really on top form. pretty scary good. I do think that if we can keep it close, frustration on their younguns could help us out. I dont think their outside backs are very good and we could have a nice edge there with nzog and milner; all it would take is a win in the air by dukes or shola...

our back 4 is going to have to be physical to win this... they score more outside the 18 then in!

Wenger to ring changes (http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278%7E1119745,00.html)

Looks like we're getting the fringe guys and kiddies. Good for us.

On our side Owen and Cacapa are def. out. Emre -may- be back.

Arsenal v Newcastle

Poland goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski looks set to make his debut in one of several changes by the Gunners. Lassana Diarra is in line for his first start, while Nicklas Bendtner and Emmanuel Eboue are also in contention.
Newcastle boss Sam Allardyce will be without striker Michael Owen and defender Claudio Cacapa (both groin).
Mark Viduka should be fit after picking up a knock, but Joey Barton, Emre, Peter Ramage, Damien Duff, Stephen Carr and Celestine Babayaro are still out.

Arsenal (from): Fabianski, Traore, Senderos, Song, Hoyte, Diarra, Denilson, Diaby, Walcott, Eduardo, Bendtner, Mannone, Randall, Gibbs, Lansbury, Merida Perez, Eboue.
Newcastle (from): Harper, Given, N'Zogbia, Rozehnal, Taylor, Enrique, Faye, Edgar, Beye, Milner, Geremi, Butt, Smith, Pattison, Viduka, Martins, Ameobi.

My sources tell me that Given will start, and we'll probably have a full-strength squad as we try to become just the second away team to win at the Emirates.

With the team Wenger has put out I might give you that. Our starters... No way.

Taxi for Mintone,...
Apologies as he has apparently spent the lunch hour at the Local and Brits :)

BTW we can hope Wenger start Senderos and Song in the center which makes it much more exciting for Martins, Viduka and/or Smudge...

Great news, I have my laptop for this one so I can listen to it. Which means we're guaranteed to lose, of course. :(

I finally figured out how to plug it into my home connection. It didn't work at first and I was pissed and calling my mom (who knows a thing or three about computers) and carrying on and ranting and raving...and then found that my ethernet cable wasn't plugged in all the way. :o

Enrique delivers a whipped cross and Martins gets on the end of it. Fabianski does well to save but Oba probably should have done better.

Bendtner gets on the end of a cross and powers a header over top. Really should have done better, probably should have scored.

We've really been under pressure the last 10 minutes or so. Eduardo puts a cross into the side netting.

Milner with a great ball into Martins, who controls but hammers a half-volley high and wide when he had more time. :(

Milner with a great ball into Martins, who controls but hammers a half-volley high and wide when he had more time. :(He needs to get his timing back . More time on the pitch will remedy that problem. Arsenal sound dangerous.

Live Match Centre on the team's website describes that Martins shot as follows:

30 Min. "Milner plays a straight chip forward to Martins to challenge with Senderos, the Nigerian gets the better of the Arsenal centre-back and has a clear sight on goal but lashes left-footed wide of the goal when all he needed was a little composure."

TD, you are kinder to him than the team's own site is for that miss!

Arsenal haven't created but two or three clear chances but they're basically passing the ball around anywhere they want. The commentators are saying that with the game the way it is right now, open and freeflowing without the tackles flying in, it screams for Emre to be introduced. I have to agree because if you put him in a jumbled midfield with Zogs and Milner, you can move Smudge to the forward position or put him as holding mid, and then you have a midfield that can link up and pass the ball around pretty well. That's what we need is better passing and more possession. IF we can do that then we're in decent shape for the second half.

Apparently they'll have something on Roeder at halftime, on BBC radio. This should be good.
