I hear young Toni Kroos just said he is/was a Werder Bremen fan and has a Micoud shirt in his room -> Great show of character, this:D

I always knew he was a cool dude.

Micoud was a very good playmaker. He wasn't fancy but he was very smart on the pitch and had a nose for goal.

And what is this:

EE, why don't you guys put in a transfer for Kroos?

Your second video doesn't work.

And by fancy I mean overelaborate and unneccessary dribbling that we see from a lot of attacking players in the spotlight nowadays. Above all, Micoud was a smart player who never overdid it. That doesn't mean he wasn't technical, which your first video clearly shows.

nothing against bayern, but for the short term I think Kroos would play a lot more at Bremen under much less spotlight

also, it's a team that plays much less rigidly

Well, Diego already pretty much plays Kroos' position. So he's actually more likely to get playing time at Bayern given that only one of our attacking midfield berths is locked up.

There are a few things in play here which in my eyes give Werder the advantage.

One is that they're a lower profile club and there is less outside pressure on them. Less media scrutiny and less spotlight. A bad performance isn't come down on with the same force.

Secondly they, if they had Kroos, wouldn't consider it out of the question to play 2 traditional #10s. That's Bremen for you.

Thirdly, their midfield slots are even less certain. And remember, Borowski's leaving on top of that. Even if he plays LM, RM or DM Bremen aren't rigid and he'll still move around the field.

Fourth; Bremen are as far as I can see, likelier to play him in the short term, with all things being equal. They might not have a "schedule" regarding Kroos like Bayern do. The first reason I listed has something to do with that.

do you think kroos not playing too much will affect his development? How much does he need to play in order to keep improving? Does he need to play a lot or is it okay that he plays very few matches? And will it affect his development into a playmaker if hes played in LM? Doesnt Kroos usually play for Bayerns second team if he doesnt get to play for the first team the same weekend, cause he would lose a lot of match practice if he played as much as he does for the first team

I don't think Kroos plays for the 2nd team as he's always in the 1st team match squads for bayern.

And playing LM in even in bayern's system won't affect his playmaker skills. A playmaker's someone who is more developed in his footballing brain so playing something restricted isn't a problem really.

To answer the rest of your questions, we'd have to be closer to the person and the team.

Personally, from what I can see, I don't think there's a problem with what bayern are doing. It's just that I personally would like to see him play, and at Bremen, under a smaller spotlight he could play more. And I don't think there's any problem for him with that either.

I just want to take this time to remind everyone that his name is NOT pronounced "cruise", but "crose."

Bayern website: "unsavable shot during open play from 22-23 metres (24-25 yards) out"

Umm, I couldn't find (read: too lazy) a Kroos thread so I'll just post my question here.

Is there any chance at all he could go to Euro '08?

I don`t think so, too inexperienced, not even a regular on our team yet, let alone 5th ranked national team material.. don`t get me wrong, I love the guy, he just isn`t ready yet. We still have Ballack, Frings et al. in midfield, who ATM I`d still rate higher. offtopic but I was wondering how Frings was on Sunday, I didnt watch that game.

It's not Germany's MO to take inexperienced players in situations like Kroos to a major tournament so it won't happen.

Very unlikely. Good for him, bad for Germany, he would have been a good substitute option.
