Someone just gave me the deluxe one that's basically three games in one.

Now, I've played this game before, but does anyone have any tips as to making the excitement level on the roller coasters higher than the intensity and nausea levels? Its really ridiculous. I have not been able to accomplish that once. I mean, if they hesitate to ride something with a maximum height of 54 feet, what can you do?

i really hate the word "tycoon" in the pc game industry. probably railroad tycoon the only one worth trying. i played rt once about for a day or 2. i never paid attention to nausea rating but my coaster was probably one of the most nauseous and intensive one. it jumps off the rail and explodes. no one survives. good game.

I have the second one, which by all accounts is pretty similar to the first. So a few tips based on that one then.

Make sure you build coaster with banked curves if the train is going to be going over 20mph through them. You can possibly get away with a little more, but these are essential. It also follows that on rides without banked curves you need to keep the speed down. And when the coasters have passengers on they will go slightly faster (once killed a few of them by forgetting this).

The speed at which the train passes through the various elements of the ride though is crucial throughout, not just the corners. Inversions should be best taken at slow speeds, indeed at the top of a loop 20mph (or perhaps slightly less) seems to work well.

Longer rides aren't necessarily better, intensity and nausea will build up a lot over these, too far and you'll affect the excitement.

I am finding though that the longer I've been playing the game the better my rides have become, early efforts were rather sprawling, relatively low excitment, and not necessarily the best design for safety (lack of brakes) or profit.

Thanks. Next time I play the game, I'll see if that helps.
