Ah, jeez. You know, I was this close to creating a thread of my own. Well, since you beat me to it, then perhaps you could change the title of the thread. You know, something like "Official 'Rick Doesn't Think U.S. Americans Know Anything About Geography' Thread." :D

I passed this

(she said smugly :p )

And apologies to Hawaii and Alaska which seem to have been ignored. Or perhaps the Americans who run the site didn't know they were states too. ;)

Is there a test for people from South Africa or the Iraq? I feel that'll help the US Americans with their geography.

I was 47/53 with avg error at 54 miles
I just got 45 out of 53 average error of 72 miles but really wasn't happy about starting with Rwanda and Gambia. I know where they are but I was a little out and it said wrong!!!!! Good test though.

I got 50/53 with average error of 74 miles. Wow putting Sao Tome & Principe on the wrong side of the continent really kills that average lol. Also didnt get Burundi and Botswana. Was robbed by Botswana though, my placing overlapped the actual location of the country and they didnt throw me a bone!!

Still made the motherland proud though!!

We learn our geography through the countries we go to war with.

Wow that would be really hard for probably 99% of americans. but I think i could only get Cornwall London Surrey Essex, and Northumberland by shape only. And that's with an interest in England.

Rick, did you get the reference? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww

But pertaining to your post, how do they do each set of countries based on which country you put in? Just which one you would know better by proximity? Like if you put in South Africa, it will give you more African countries? Is that how it goes? I wasn't sure.

Hadn't heard of this before - but god thats funny!!!!!
Not sure how it is done. But it does seem that if you pick the US as your start then you get easier questions. Guess the makers know heh?!!! :p

I destroyed Europe, only missing San Marino. Is it bigger than the District of Columbia?

Africa. Not so good. Only got 30/53. I'm a little miffed that I didn't get credit for at least placing the country in the same overlapping area as it belonged in. Besides, I grew up in a house with a National Geographic globe that had French West Africa on it, which probably constitutes 20 separate African countries nowadays.

My wife showed me a pretty interesting geography test off of Facebook. I scored 49,500 but needed 50,000 to get passed the 12th level.
