Who in their right mind would want to sign for a no one and an out-and-out crony of Roman's? Who would sign for Chelsea unless outrageous sums of money were involved now? Sometimes i doubt Roman's business acumen.

Roman has officially become Jerry Jones (NFL fans will get the analogy). If he wants to put a crony in charge of the team, why doesn't he just drag his ass onto the bench and do it himself? How can he expect players to take Grant seriously when they know he's simply a lapdog?

damn ,this could be a romanov/graham rix type scenario.
Never thought of that.
Its well known that Romanov picks the team at hearts.

Yeah, he told Grant not to interfere.

Avram Grant named manager, and according to all sources now, it is not interim. So much for Hiddink and Capello. Roman hired his buddy.:confused:
How does everyone feel about this? I continue to be shocked.

I personally feel we should merge the three "Grant threads" into one!!!

I really don't see how we're going to get any poorer than we already are, but I agree he is not the man for the job.
BBC are saying he is only temporary though.

Agree, ONE thread so we can follow all developments on ONE thread only instead of the 2 1/2 threads out there...;)

This bullshit needs 1000 threads until that man is sacked. But that will never happen, so where can we go?

I'm not sure, might happen sooner than you think - though he is 'The Abramovich Bitch", Roman might realize that having your own fans throw chunks of celerary at you after the 5th defeat in a row, might make him reconsider into hiring a named coach with the quality and charisma to handle Chelsea's already disruptive locker room, as well as pitch formations with what is available. Something I would have only trusted JM with given the current situations.
My feeling is that Lamps will probably follow JM to wherever he goes while Roman's boys Ballack (not going anywhere for at least another season) and Sheva might actually see some playing time. Total speculation by me here...
I have a bad feeling a lot of coaching will be done from the owner's suit at "The Bridge"!!

Hopefully, he will just coach until January and then we get a high-profiled offensive no-nonsense manager.

Oh, Sh!t, Grant makes his teams play the most boring style of football ever, I'm sad that Mourinho is gone I really liked him as a coach.

with Jose out, Grant is helping his friend Roman by taking charge and holding this team together. He is very good for now....until someone better comes along.
Alot of people hated grant saying he plays bunker style futball, but he didn't loose a game to ireland, france, swiss, and for him to accomplish that with a team like israel is a big deal. His team that wcqualifiers also scored more than everyone else too(away from the minnows).
Good luck Chelsea, I know everyone will miss JM , but hey it seems your always with quality.
