Capello is a good manager.
Who got sacked by Real Madrid recently.
Any reasons why he would be any good here?

He's proven. He's won silverware before. He can keep players attitudes down (He benched Totti for a while because he lashed out at him, this is something i heard.) He's able to win. Look what he did with RM last season.

good post.
I'm fairly ignorant about the whole Capello/RM situation, so please excuse my stupidity about the subject.

RM went 3-4 seasons without winning anything until he was brought in. He mainly put a stop to the big shots attitudes and was able to win the league.
Here's some of his honors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabio_Capello#Honors_as_coach

There is little point replacing one safety first manager with another. You will be a far better team with a manager capable of playing an attractive brand of attacking football that suits the players in your squad. I'm certainly more wary of facing a Chelsea side of that nature than any under Mourinho.

Those wishing for Capello, do you know what your talking about?
First thing he isn't a players coach and considering the fact that Chelsea is filled with big name stars who won't gravitate to a coach who has often had volatile relationships with players in the past.
If you thought Mourinho "defensive style" was a drag then Capello is going to make you claw your eyes out. Also do you realize that what your President wants is a CL trophy, however Capello has been very unsuccessful there getting knocked out early (some say do to his style of play).

I'm convinced. He'll be our manager, assuming he gets along with Roman.

Teso, over here we care about winning, not playing 'an attractive brand of attacking football'. At least I do.

In all honesty I'd imagine there are a number of managers who could do a reasonable job with the players we have available. The stupid thing about it is that the majority of the very best players in the squad were there before JM arrived, (Frank, Terry, JC, etc.), and we've lost some of the other good ones when we had like Robben. The plain truth, (and I think we all KNOW it :(), is that we've gone backwards over the past year or so.
Personally I'd like to see a young English manager like Coppel given a shout but I doubt there's much chance of that happening.

Again, do you even know what your saying? Please look past awards and actually look at the entire body of work.
You do realize that Capello not only has rough relations with players but also with management... right?
With his brash personality how the hell do you think he'll be able to succeed under Abramovich?

Your empty stands and the grumbling of countless supporters about the style of football you played says differently.
Personally I'd like to see a young English manager like Coppel given a shout but I doubt there's much chance of that happening.
He's certainly the opposite to Mourinho in terms of style of play but his lack of experience and defensive questions make him an unwise choice. Particularly as you have you pick of managers.

Cry me a river.
