Rangers News:

Mancienne may return to action after sitting out Saturday with a back problem. Fitness test today, I guess. Walton, Kanyuka, and Ainsworth are out. Nardiello may start.

The Opponent:

Ian Holloway makes his second trip back to Loftus Road as opposing manager. He has a new book out and did a signing in Hammersmith this week. According to the BBC, "On-loan defender Larrys Mabiala is still out with a knee injury but Lee Hodges, Lilian Nalis, Akos Buzsaky and Peter Halmosi are all available."

The Series:

Plymouth leads 22-4-17. Last season, both games ended up with 1-1 scorelines. In 05/06, Plymouth won their home game while we tied at Loftus Road. In 04/05 and 03/04, each team won the home game. In 02/03, QPR won away and the clubs drew at Loftus Road. Before that, the clubs hadn't met since the 1973/74 League Cup and they hadn't meat in the League since 1967/68 when QPR swept two matches. Another long break before that, as the clubs hadn't met since 1958/59. So, since the 1950's, it's QPR 5 wins, 4 draws, Plymouth 4 wins.

The Referee:

Andre Marriner has been assigned. This season, he's worked 2 Premier League, 1 Championship, and 2 League One games. Last season, he worked two QPR games -- both draws -- 1-1 at Plymouth and 3-3 vs. Norwich. In 05/06, he worked our win at Stoke and our FA Cup loss at Blackburn. In 04/05, he worked our home win against Plymouth and our away loss at Cardiff. His first QPR game was in 03/04 when he worked our 4-1 home win over Hartlepool.

So Mancienne ended up not being fit enough for the bench. And Nardiello replaces Sahar, which is interesting. Ben not quite ready for two starts in 4 days? Or Nardiello showed something at Leiceister?

***** Results will be posted here for lots of matches ********

Interesting Midlands derby in the League Cup tonight. Forest take an early lead at home vs Leicester, 1-nil

My mistake in the first post. We're an 18:00 start, not 17:45. I thought we got ride of the late starts this year. I believe we had them last season on police advice, but I thought we'd gone back to 17:45.

After Nardiello scored two in the reserves last week, Gregory said on World that he expected to start Nardiello either on Tuesday or next Saturday.

Moore & Rehman again? Obviously, neither is a fan favorite, but the message boards have definitely been buzzing with the hope that those two wouldn't start tonight.

Hard to believe Rehman is performing better than Bignot in training at right back, assuming Biggie is fully fit.

I like having the options of Ephraim and Sahar to come off the bench, but I worry that things will be stale before they enter, leaving us with only a half hour or so of attacking football.

That's the pessimistic look at it though. Hopefully Nardiello and Dex will be effective from the start.

Sounds like we've done some attacking to start the night off. Bolder with a shot. Nardiello and Dexter combining a few times.
