Jay Denny has reappreared for Halesowen Town on 09/15 against Malvern Town.

Jay scored in the 63rd minute as Halwsowen won 4-0.

I wouldn't have started this thread if Jay hadn't scored. We must keep the YA goalscorers thread up to date.

Halesowen town are in the British Gas Business Football League Premier Division :)
Plus Jay Denny is known to the YA regulars, right?

Just in case you don't.

He captained the US U-20's at one point, so I feel justified.

I believe this was the first round of the FA Cup qualifiers, not a league game.

Jay is known to all and his is a pretty sad story. However, he's too low in the English system to count on the goal scorers list. I set the bar at 3rd division in the big 5 (and, as far as I know, there's no 3rd division in Italy, so we are really just looking at the Regional Leagues in Germany and, what, League 1 in England). I'm not counting Zizzo's goals for Hannover 96's second squad, which is playing in one of the Oberlegas.

Even if he scored the goal in the FA Cup, and not his lower league? I'm just trying to give the guy some respect. :)

Many people would have given up on their dream, but he's plugging away at a lower level. And hey, Jay Demerit came from very far down in the English system to the USMNT.

I'm just psyched you started a match thread for him. And just for me, too! ;)

Uhh, yeah, there would be that whole Serie C1 and C2 thing. You'd think I could remember that . . .

Former US under 20 captain playing below me? Now I feel better! Can't find much info about him, but he's got to be worth a look for a Conference team if he's had that experience.
