Alright, the game is tomorrow, and recent reports from training say Adu had praticed well. Anyone think we might be able to see him get some minutes in this game?

This shouldn't be here, I think.
But anyway, he wasn't called so no Adu again.
I feel disappointed...
EDIT:
This was one of the most accessible games in the league...
1 Leixões 1 | 1 SL Benfica
2 SL Benfica 0 | 0 V.Guimarães
3 Nacional 0 | 3 SL Benfica
4 SL Benfica | Naval
5 SC Braga | SL Benfica
6 SL Benfica | Sporting CP
7 U. Leiria | SL Benfica
8 SL Benfica | Maritimo
9 P.Ferreira | SL Benfica
10 SL Benfica | Boavista
11 Académica | SL Benfica
12 SL Benfica | FC Porto
13 ...
So... very difficult to play on any game other than Académica...
Now before Christmas I can only see him playing for the Cups (there's two of them).

if he's not in the roster for tomorrow, then yea that's kinda dissapointing..i guess they think he still need a bit more "adaptation"...which could work out well for the long run....let the waiting continue 'till the next episode

Yeah. Well he made clear progress during training sessions (as noted in the press and by himself), and he'll keep doing so.
This is year is for adaptation, and to learn anyway. The coach must be protecting him from a possible bad exhibition. But I still want to see how he does in a cup match against a lower division team.

There are quite a few Benfica fans in my other forums that are mad that Bergessio is included but Adu is not.
They claim they see a strong difference between Adu and Bergessio in practice. I guess this is a good thing, hopefully Camacho is really just playing it safe.

Danny did Camacho say something bad about Freddy? I saw thisO que o Camacho disse do Miguel Victor nesta ultima conferencia de imprensa tbm serve para o Adu.
"Se não jogar não é problema, ele tem de saber é que está a treinar para ser um grande jogador" didn't know what it meant. Then a few post afterwards seem to say that Freddy should leave to play.

He is basically saying that just because Adu is not playing that it isn't really a problem nor should he be worried about it. He says that Adu is in training to become a great player. And he said that the same goes for Miguel Vitor. The difference is that Miguel Vitor is being used out of necessity.
Anyway, I agree with him. I think a lot of youth only learn how to copy flashy players. It takes time to learn the actual purpose of their moves on the pitch. I was actually forced to sit down and watch a game with a coach once where the only player we were able to talk about was Pirlo. I came away from that experience, not only a huge fan of Pirlo (who at the time seemed like an ordinary player), but also with a huge respect for the CM/DM roles.
I think that Adu needs to take the time to sit down and watch Rui Costa. As one of the worlds all time best players, he has a lot to show Adu. And I believe sincerely that Adu will not learn as much from Costa if he is thinking "I hope coach sends me in soon" all game long.
Doesn't mean its not dissapointing though:)

What it says is:
What Camacho said about Miguel Vítor could also be addressed to Freddy.
"It's not a problem if he doesn't play, he has to know that he is training to be a great player"

It would be great to see that.
Unfortunately I don't think it will happen. He might make a sub appearance at most.

If only he can snatch the pebble from Camacho's hand ...
Do they have snow in Portugal this time of year? I guess he could just douse his wrists in the gatorade tub.

Mods should add a DNP to the thread title. That way we can discuss discrimination against Americans in another thread.

you learn ZERO by watching. He could watch Rui Costa on TV while playing for another club. He is 18 and needs to play.

That is AWESOME!
Can I just tell how I wish we had coaches like that in this country?
