if chelsea were to be invited then i'd be amazed if another italian and another spanish team weren't invited as well. the big 3 (england, spain, italy) will want to keep the balance of teams equal.

Wouldn't be surprised at that at all.

Platini has the big clubs worried, very, very worried, with some of his ideas.
They'll want all the support they can get to oppose him, their plans being hashed out behind closed doors in the G14 meetings.

The actual sad thing about it is, is that Platini has the interests of football at the root of his plans, whilst the G14, not being directly against the betterment of the game, are strictly in it for the business (read: financial) betterment of their exclusive little gang.

If their interests aren't in the best interests of the game, well, thats a trivial matter to be brushed aside with an almighty 'oh well, so be it'.

The only knock I have against Platini, is that he is in cahoots with that fuking muppet Blatter.

Hate the G14. Hate the idea, the concept and the execution. BUT as long as one exists, it's a necessary evil that Chelsea be a part I suppose.
