i think it would be difficult to keep Diego from Real if he has interest....Robinho is there, and he is his best friend..
hopefully Diego will sign that contract extension and then if he does leave early, at least we will get a pretty penny for him

This is gonna be a painful match... I just hope Bremen wakes up!
It's almost as if all the players are bored with football. :(

It's very, very obvious just how badly Bremen is missing Frings and Borowski.

i hope for bremen to wake up too. they've been asleep for too long, they really are missing some team spirit. if the team were to go down 1-0 i don't want the team reacting like they did against dortmund. i don't really mind a loss against real madrid, but i don't want a hammering!! although i'm sort of expecting one. but this is the champions league and anything can happen...

We need someone like Frings to kick the team back into gear.

wish you all the best for this match. Will be pretty though tough.
I dont know if your offense is good enough to score, and your defense is really good but if its good enough to keep real goalless...?

I expect us to loose 0-2.
Why?
We īll loose 0-2, because in the last 3 years we always lost the first match
in the group stage with that result.

He is not for sell. Werder is in contrast to the Klose case in the confortable situation,
that Diego has still some years contract here. That he will leave sometimes to a very big club is obvious,
but currently such rumours are only big BS.
They came up, because of the Real match.
Same happened before the Dinamo match with rumours about Luka Modric.
Such BS rumours are a good sign, because it shows,
that even the big Real has a little bit of respect for Werder.
So lay back, donīt worry and enjoy how Diego plays.

Our offence would be good if Rosenberg would wake up.
Our strength was our midfield, but with Frings and Borowski missing and Carlos Alberto still not playing the way he can (and he's "injured"), it's weakened.
Our defense was strong, but currently there's no cohesion.
The way I see it, it'll be a practice match for Real.

That's just about exactly what I was thinking......

Our defence was never great, let it be in the Bundesliga or Europe. It was the midfield, a midfield with Frings and Borowski I mean, that overshadowed its weaknesses.
Once both of them went missing, opponents find it easier to unhinge our midfield and get the ball forward. And when that is the case, our defence will be under immense pressure.
We have fine individuals (see how many praise Mertesacker and Naldo gets in NT? Even Pasanen and Owomoyela are reliable choices.) but Schaaf's tactics are ruining them. They make our defenders look like complete morons in many occasions.
There are countless examples:
Lyon, Juventus (we played well but the defence was really really leaky actually), Nurnberg (05/06, we lost 0-3), Schalke (the Gelsenkirchen match in 06/07, imo the most worst showing), Bielefeld, Frankfurt, Stuttgart (4-1) and recently Dortmund.
I don't know what Schaaf is thinking about.
If he manages to fix it up, I have reason to believe, even without the presence of Frings and Borowski or even Mertesacker, Bremen are still going to be a tough nut to crack.

Guys, don't focus on what happened in Dortmund so much. It was simply a bad night!
Sometimes results like that can even bring good teams together. Let's hope that is the case here!

That's what I was thinking too...and yes I hope for the same thing as well.
I think people here are being a bit too pessimistic.
Plus, playing at the bernabeau (packed or not) is nothing compared to a packed westfalenstadion

Me too, but I can't blame them. We are all like that about our teams.

LOL!! I wish it were that way again already. We still need a few more years! :D
