Oh yes... the answer is Yes
Bolivia had it's chances yesterday....
Martins missed two clear opportunities.... not because he was enefficient but because those balls came at him indirectly....
and also there was a foul on Alvarez right inside the foul square
that was a clear penalty in favor of Bolivia which the PERUVIAN REFEREE
DID NOT CALL...
how the hell the referee was Peruvian playing in Peru against Bolivia ?
when our guys where attacking and they got fouled by the peruvian defenders... the referee didn't call SHI_AT neither
those could've been shots that led to a goal for Bolivia
now i am not trying to say that the reason we lost was completely due to the reason that the Referee was Peruvian
because our defenders had their mistakes ...in great part because they were not in ther positions
but in part it was due to the referee being peruvian...oh yes... it did a lot of damage to the unfairness in the game
some say yesterdays game could have ended 3-0 but i tend to think that if the referre was not Peruvian
it could have ended 2-1 or 2-2
BELIEVE IT OR NOT !

I saw the game. The amount of posession held by Bolivia during the game was impressive. Sadly, it would never amount to any kind of profound attack... the ball would always gets stuck 3/4 into Peruvian territory and Vaca wouldn't have the clarity to create anything concrete.
The mistakes in defense were horrible. Peru didn't look good in this department either but they are fortunate to have forwards like Pizarro and Guerrero. Bolivian's passing game will be successful if you guys find a way to get those balls to both Martins and Arce with any kind of positional advantage.

The ref was not enough of an impact in this match to say that Bolivia wou;ld've tied the game or scored a goal.
I disagree.

I agree with Visca, the referee didn't have enough of an impact as others may think. You could always point out to ANY game about a possible missed call or woul've, should've, could've.
The bottom line is Peru outplayed Bolivia throughout the game and deserved the win. It doesn't matter if the referee had been Evo Morales, Peru would have and deserved to win the game. We played like sh1t and deserved to get our a$$es handed to us. The referee did not affect who won the game. Now maybe you could argue for a different score, but let's not kid ourselves here Peru won hands down in every category that mattered.
PS- Guerrero and Vargas are beasts, ok i'm gone now

I have to agree with this one, we had nice amount of possession but no attack..... that being said Peru did well with their counter attacks.

calm down dude, it was only a friendly, lets see how they do against Uruguay.
Bolivia could have also lost 5 to 0 if Peru scored on their chances too. Its great to see you become a outspoken Bolivian fan, but posts like this makes u look a bit ignorant.

Yep. Bolivia was outplayed. But i garuntee you if that second goal didnt happen it would have been much closer, because after that our whole game dropped. But kudos to Peru. Now lets play in La Paz for the rematch.

i think you have the same problem that the Nilo guy has
you both are antipatriotic...maybe because you are from Santa Cruz
but i don't wanna get into INTERNAL ISSUES here..
but it is sad to look at you guys trying to please the peruvians in this forum....by saying that bolivia did not do well at all
why can't you realize that.... IT IS WRONG .... for a host country to have a referee from its own
let me give you guys a post form eldeber.com about this referee issue

Bolivianos no querían salir
Según las radios peruanas los jugadores de Bolivia no querían salir al campo, al enterarse de que el árbitro del encuentro era de ese país. En principio se sabía que el juez sería un ecuatoriano, pero a última hora se cambió. Al final los bolivianos salieron.
IT SAYS IT UP THERE OUR PLAYERS DID NOT WANT TO PLAY WITH A PERUVIAN REFEREE
NEXT TIME BEFORE CALLING SOMEBODY OF YOUR COUNTRY IGNORANT LOOK AT YOURSELF MOST LIKELY ARE ARE BEING IGNORANT AT AN ISSUE THAT DESERVES A GOOD THOUGHT
DON'T TRY TO PLEASE OTHER PEOPLE
AND STILL YOU HAVEN'T STATED WHY WAS IT OKAY FOR PERU TO PLAY WITH A LOCAL REFEREE
THAT I REPEAT DID NOT CALL A LEGITIMATE FOUL IN FAVOR OF BOLIVIA ?
JUST SPEAK THE TRUTH !

I don't try to please anyone, I just call it how it is. There are some out there that swear every problem that Bolivian futbol has, has to do with outside interference, maybe we should take a look at ourselves and start pressuring the players to play better. Its a friendly, IMO i dont care if the ref was from Peru or not, Bolivia still need to capitalize on their chances. Its not the refs fault we lost yesterdays match. Instead of blaming the ref why dont you blame our defense, it was the worst I have seen in the past couple of games, why dont you critizize Sanches decisions to leave Jhasmany out of the starting lineup, why dont you put the blame on our offense that doesnt do crap when they are in the opponents side of the field. We have no flair up front, Arce and Martins is as close as we can get, I doubt this team can play better at higher altitude.
ps. thanks for the spanish lesson, all the caps make it distracting though, oh yea I am actually from Cochabamba, get to know the Bolivian posters before lashing out on me you noob

Having a Peruvian referee work a Peruvian national team game in Peru vs. an international team on a FIFA date seems highly suspect and possibly unfair. Clearly, Bolivia did not play in the manner we have seen of late and not as well as we would obviously expect. Last night Peru appeared to play more cogently, however all factors influence the outcome of a game and a referee is one of the most important. In my mind the outcome of the game is now tainted.

I too watched the game yesterday, and it was obvious Peru was a better team then Bolivia in that game.
To me it seemed that Peru's DT ordered to play more defensivly in the 2nd half (something Peru always does when they're in advantage, sadly) if not I think the game would've been an easy 4-0 in Peru's favor.
I didn't know the referre was Peruvian, till now... yet he did a fair job. I believe he handed out more yellow cards to Peruvian players, then Bolivians?... and overall favored no team.
I think you can blame the defeat on that Peruvian player, J. Vargas, I'm sure the DT of Bolivia had no idea he'd be put up as a mid-fielder/attacker, since his defendors were concetrated more on Guerrero, and Pizarro. Vargas would've surprised ANY team since he did pull many tricks.
Blaming the referre for this victory is childish, and moronic... considering so many games out there that actually HAVE been reff'ed unfairly.

Def. not childish, and yes it does sorta taint the win, but reagardless this was just a friendly. Ignore the problem that we lost, not a big deal. Our defense is the big deal. Our lack of a midfield creative, good holding and distributing #10 is another big problem. We have loads of decent forwards, but we have no one to feed them.
And guys its not that big of a deal, be happy this wasnt a qualifier.
