I didn't see this one coming; Mickey feels that his experience in the top flight will help the Foxes. What do you guys think?

Ferdinand had actually been talking with Leicester since last week.

Everyone says he's past it, but that's what they said about other bargain signings like Tony Cottee a few years ago. He's certainly got the resume and could be a great role model to Trevor Benjamin and Oooh Tommy Wright... even if he doesn't feature much in the first team (hopefully because Dickov and Co. are scoring plenty of goals!).

This signing can't hurt, can it not?

I don't think that the signing has hurt the team at all. I haven't been keeping up with speculation for a while, but I feel that his experience will help the younger players on the team. Like you said, hopefully the young guns are scoring goals, but I can picture being up there with Dickov. It'd be interesting how he fairs with training and the possibility of being a starter at the beginning of the season...can't wait.

Me neither!

Nobody's given Leicester any chance to stay up except themselves... then Micky goes out with almost no funds and signs seven players who either have something to prove or have never been detected by the Premiership radar... Call me overly optimistic, but I'm starting to think that Leicester's unknown squad could be greatly underestimated next season!

I have that feeling as well :-)

Who do you have as strikers now ?. I know of Ferdinand, Deane, Dickov (always raises a smile). Personally speaking, I have to say that does fill me with fear, but then they'll all get a hat-trick against Blackburn next season, as Leicester will assume the role of Sunderland*.

*=Probably not rated highly, couldn't score in a brothel, yet beat Blackburn with ease.

There's also Trevor Benjamin and the Foxes' highly-rated young forward, Tommy Wright.

The goal-scoring part isn't my main concern although they can use depth in the squad. Leicester were never a goal-scoring team during the O'Neill years either. But in the latter half of the 2000-1 season and throughout all of 2001-2, they gave up goals at an alarming rate.

Now he has reviled he gets the same buzz from playing he did when he was younger;

True, but I can't help feeling you are going to be a bit like West Brom last season-tough, competative (I've spelt that wrong), but lacking that cutting edge to gain points. I hope that isn't the case, as I have liked Leicester, and have nothing against them at all.

People wrote off Birmingham City, too. But really, we'll start finding out the real answers come August.

Good luck anyway, I like Micky Adams.

On behalf of the players, thank you ;)
