Anyone know who took the arm band when Miro left the field on Saturday and from Bernd today?

When Miro left, Arne Friedrich.
As for today, I didn't see the match.

hehe, didn't need a new thread for this, but
whoever has the most caps takes it, if ballack and schneider who are the captain and vice captain are missing.

Speaking of the Captain's Arm Band.
I think this is the pecking order.
1. Ballack
2. Schneider
3. Frings
4. Friedrich
5. Klose
6. Metze
After these old farts Lahm will most likely get it.

Nah it's usually Ballack, then Schneider or Frings and then the player with the most caps (currently Klose, A. Friedrich, Lehmann, Schweini, Kuranyi, Poldi,...).

I thought ballack and schneider were designated C and VC no matter what.
then it goes in order of who has most caps.
Because schneider has more caps than ballack I think.

but lahm got the captain arm band from Schneider when Germany faced England. And Fridriech, Metzey (who has the most caps than him) was also on the field

Yes, bc that was in the course of the game and they had more important things on their minds than counting caps...

maybe you just have to strategically position yourself when the captain is being subbed...

Nope, when we played England Lahm had already 35 caps, Metzelder had only 33. Since Lahm didn't play against Wales and Romania, Metze now has 35 too. Arne Friedrich has much more caps than both though.

Yea Arne (somehow) has 52 caps. I say somehow because he always seems to be the most disrespected member of the starting XI despite his solid showings almost all the time (bar Costa Rica).

Yep. That was mostly caused by parts of the media during the WC group phase. The team played so good that some parts of the press were desperately looking for a weak spot to bash. They blamed him for some problems which were in fact problems of the whole tactics like the not working offside trap against Costa Rica. The default operation mode of the press before the WC was often bashing of the NT, the coach etc. (ok, partly with good reason).
Anyway, but when we played Ecuador in Berlin a lot of Hertha fans were in the stadium and we shouted his name after he made some good actions. Almost the whole stadium joined in. After the game he was interviewed in the TV and was asked about it. This pretty much made the press to shut up about him.

Yeah, the nature of the bashing is plastic and if you look properly hasn't got much to do with football. He's a good player in general who has also had some outstanding matches like the world cup quarterfinal. Also he can play more centrally too.
I never wanted him dropped. From even the first XI, but he should at least be on the bench if that is not possible.
